Job Description
We’re looking for a proactive, strategic, and driven person to join Cash App’s marketing and brand team as our Brand Partnerships Lead. This is an opportunity to have a direct impact on the team that defines Cash App’s brand through inventive marketing programs and initiatives. This individual would work alongside Cash App’s Head of Marketing to support the development and execution of strategic partnerships that drive both awareness and cachet to our growing mainstream brand. They will also develop new business prospects and contribute to delivering best in class entertainment marketing, content, and event programs for new and existing partners. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated, entertainment marketing expert capable of delivering breakthrough concepts in support of strategic marketing initiatives and well-versed in negotiating complex deals. The person in this role would also be responsible for building out Cash App’s broader portfolio of long term partners and develop custom deals that would enable us to work with a variety of public figures over multiple years. By selecting the right partners to work with, we can increase the validity of the brand we're building. The person in this role will have a major impact on Cash App's credibility, boosting our brand image, driving brand intrigue, and assisting in personalizing our brand impact.
You will:
Partner closely with the broader Marketing and Brand team to source partnership opportunities that fit in with our overall brand strategy
Create and own a regularly updated pipeline of partners to pursue
Lead external discussions with potential partners from start to finish: this includes outreach, negotiation of fees, contract execution and seeing through deliverables for partners
Collaborate cross-functionally with a high-impact team of designers, marketers, business, legal, production, and finance to help impact overall Brand and Marketing work
Oversee product placement opportunities in music videos and television
Handle account management for deals brought in by the Head of Marketing: this includes project management from concept to execution
Ownership of program and project ideation process - lead the development of creative concepts and guide the packaging and delivery of ideas and new business presentations
Serve as primary contact for partner portfolio
Develop and manage integrated brand programs/campaigns to increase commercial Cash App awareness
Manage integrated programs featuring key partners that support and build brand awareness
Proactively communicate with agency, media, digital, and brand industries to explore opportunities
Build and maintain strategic relationships with current and future partners
Research measure and negotiate artist partnership agreements
On-going management of all partner deals and programs
Maximize the use of consumer research to exploit partner opportunities and increase Cash App brand equity
Develop a keen understanding of what makes our product and culture special and make recommendations around how to express that within the context of a custom partnership
Act fast and be willing to make changes when the unexpected occurs
Qualifications
You have:
9+ years of relevant experience in brand and marketing
Entrepreneurial spirit with demonstrated success in driving new business from concept, to contract, and through the execution phase
Demonstrated experience in bringing concepts to life through written/visual presentations
Strong relationships in media, entertainment, brand, and agency industries required; music and fashion industry experience a plus
A strong network of potential partners who hold decision making responsibilities for strategic marketing partnerships
Ability to collaborate across multiple groups and understand the value of working as a team
Must have ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with people on all levels - in person, on the phone, and in writing
Strong organizational and time management skills: ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously that are deadline sensitive, while paying strict attention to detail
Excellent writing, communications, negotiation and analytical skills
Self-starter, will take initiative with new projects with ability to make cold calls
Works well with others in a collaborative environment
The ability to garner support from internal experts and external partners to position Cash App’s product against competition
The ability to adapt to new situations quickly and think on your feet
Hustle and determination
