Job Description

Our Global Communications team is made up of tough, quick-witted, entrepreneurial, and intellectually-curious people. We communicate to the world Square's purpose of economic empowerment and our mission to empower businesses and individuals with easy-to-use, elegant tools that give them an advantage where they previously had none.

Square is looking for an interactive designer to join the Corporate Purpose function of our team, a diverse group of individuals that uses data, design, and storytelling to advocate for Square's brand globally. Reporting to our Design Lead, you will work with multiple teams daily to bring to life data visualizations, compelling narratives, and purpose-driven content. As our first interactive designer, you'll lead the discipline on our team and work with our other visual designers to build scalable and unique web experiences as well as contribute to our team's focus and strategy.

You will:

Work through complex design problems to create beautiful and thoughtful interactions for the web
Demonstrate an expertise in typography, composition, layout, design thinking, and content strategy in the design solutions you create
Consider UX from a user journey level across multiple touchpoints, and within specific interactions
Design at a systems level, where components can be re-used and built to scale, optimized across different screen sizes and devices
Iterate quickly and communicate ideas across several levels of fidelity, with the ability to receive feedback constructively and provide feedback to other's work
Work with visual designers, communications associates, data analysts, engineers, partners, and with Creative leadership

Qualifications

You have:

5 years of industry experience designing for web
Experience with HTML, CSS, and Javascript

Even better:

D3.js knowledge
Experience working with Lottie
Production design skills
