Job Description

Reshaping the future of Finance at Square calls for improving our ability to provide value to our customers. The Digital Transformation Finance Lead, reporting to our Head of Accounting, will work with financial professionals and business leaders, realizing opportunities to develop an excellent finance foundation. 

You will surface and help to sequence the daily management of high priority transformation change efforts and will be an important team participant to improve processes, enhance systems, realign the Finance organization to realize opportunities to redefine the way our work is performed. You will also be an important catalyst to guide thinking on the "art of the possible" and architecting solutions that support future needs. 

You will partner the PMO in the design, implementation, and evolution of change strategies and plans to inspire and motivate people to embrace the changes that are required to move Square's business forward and support our complexity at scale. You will partner with Finance leadership and department finance leaders globally to drive change in the most effective way possible, deploying traditional project management and agile methodologies. You will partner to influence program inter-dependencies, enforce change management efforts, and communicate the success of these operational outcomes. You will use out of the box ideas to ensure successful collaboration with the PMO, Financial Business Systems (FBS) and Finance to transform our processes and will assist to organize, create, communicate, and facilitate activities that allow the company to achieve its transformation goals while guiding the strategic direction across Finance. We are looking for someone who can effect change management creatively within complex dynamic organizations and communicate the value proposition to promote internal agreement. 

You Will:

  • Partner with Finance teams to modernize our processes through digital finance transformation
  • Partner with all senior Finance Leaders to align with the business strategy:
  • Identify the issue, targeted goals and timeline
  • Create strategies and tactical blueprints that help set the roadmap
  • Develop and crystallize goals and deliverables with partners, ensuring highest potential for value delivery
  • Coordinate with the PMO to help with the management, tracking and communication status of workstream efforts, program risks/issues, and progress towards strategic goals
  • Partner with business leads and sponsors to determine appropriate ways to navigate complex issues and change management agendas that Finance can help shape
  • Partner with Finance Business Systems to help implement digital technologies to improve operational effectiveness, compliance and reporting, incorporating digital enablers for end-to-end finance processes (such as procure-to-pay, order-to-cash, record-to-report) by assessing challenges/needs/gaps
  • Diagnose root problems and recommend end-to-end solutions that use digital workflows and tools and harness the power of robotic process automation, machine learning, and artificial intelligence to reinvent and accelerate our work
  • Be an advisor to the transformation plans Finance will launch by sharing experience and ideas on what the art of possible is to transform the utility and influence of the Finance team
  • Maintain an understanding of advancements in technology and innovations which are happening across digital, analytics, the CFO ecosystem, and broader marketplace
  • Work with all digital finance transformation partners to ensure prioritization and execution of project plan aligns with the Company's goals
  • Participate in process development and improvement discussions to help determine performance metrics
  • Identify process opportunities with a consideration for functional and logical system design and implementation
  • Support the final reporting decisions and recommendations to ensure quality, delivery and documentation of all the deliverables
  • Understand the requirements and priorities around deliverables for finance transformation
  • Partner with FBS and internal customers to identify and integrate technologies to produce and consume data enhancing our business intelligence and reporting

Qualifications

You Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or Economics
  • 8+ years experience working in Finance organizations or advising CFOs on Finance transformation, process improvements, financial planning redesign, service delivery model design and implementation, and other essential elements of the Finance team
  • Experience with finance transformation and process improvement using leading edge technologies incorporating robotics, machine learning, artificial intelligence
  • You understand advancements in technology and innovations which are happening across digital, predictive analytics, data visualizations, robotics and artificial intelligence to influence Finance direction
  • Understanding of finance technologies (process, planning analytics, core Financial, BI tools) and ERP technologies (Oracle Fusion), Anaplan, Hyperion, Blackline, Robotic Process Automation (UIPath, Automation Anywhere, Blue Prism)
  • Experience with Finance operating models and supporting organization structures, and process best practices
  • Experience designing inquiries and reports
  • Experience with the design and implementation of financial systems
  • Experience in continuous improvement programs, root cause analysis, and project management
  • Outstanding integrity, initiative, creativity, and passion
  • Record of career progression with increasing levels of responsibility
  • Be a change ambassador across the Global Finance network, infusing learning, creating forum to share best practices and develop skills in change management
