The Sr. Product Marketing Manager ensures that the right customers are getting the right message, through the right channels and represents the customer's voice in product strategy decisions. The ultimate goal is to make sure we are building the right products for our audiences, and to promote growth and usage of the products within the portfolio. We are looking for a strategic, data-driven marketer to join Square as a Sr. Product Marketing Manager on the Point of Sale team, with global responsibility over the Team Management add-on product. Team Management provides integrated solutions that help business owners, across industries, manage their employees. We are a full-stack team, spanning across product, design, product marketing, engineering, operations and growth.
The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of product strategy and SaaS business models, experience building product awareness and growth across the lifecycle, and experience with cross-functional coordination. Reporting to the PMM Lead for the POS Product, you'll help drive product and marketing strategies to help the team accomplish our goals.
You will:
- Identify target customers, their needs, and how products will meet those needs through surveys, interviews, and product usage
- Partner and work with Product Management, Design and Engineering to determine the product strategy and feature roadmap
- Develop product positioning, value propositions, and important messaging to be used in product development and marketing campaigns
- Lead the go-to-market plan, ensuring that all customer-facing teams are on-message and maximizing each channel
- Develop and implement data-driven lifecycle marketing strategies to promote product growth and retention
- Track marketing program performance and improve through continuous testing
- Review competitive offerings and guide ongoing differentiation
Qualifications
You have:
- A BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience
- 6+ years in product marketing, growth or lifecycle marketing, or similar go-to-market experience
- Previous background in SaaS marketing, preferably with experience in either consumer apps / technologies, early stage startups, or with exposure to small business audiences
- Experience working with product teams to define product strategy
- Strong quantitative analytical ability
- Comfort in a face-paced, entrepreneurial, start-up environment
- Genuine interest in and curiosity in helping small businesses succeed
