Jr. Visual Designer, Hardware Marketing

  • Full-time
  • Alternate Location: New York, United States

Company Description

Square builds common business tools in unconventional ways so more people can start, run, and grow their businesses. When Square started, it was difficult and expensive (or just plain impossible) for some businesses to take credit cards. Square made credit card payments possible for all by turning a mobile phone into a credit card reader. Since then Square has been building an entire business toolkit of both hardware and software products including Square Capital, Square Terminal, Square Payroll, and more. We’re working to find new and better ways to help businesses succeed on their own terms—and we’re looking for people like you to help shape tomorrow at Square.

We welcome both applicants with a graphic design background and an interactive design background, but ideally want someone who feels comfortable with both.

You will:

  • Design on-brand, on-concept graphics, layouts and contribute to the development of image/video assets, prepared for web, print, and physical installations
  • Work both with a creative lead and independently to turn ideas into great design and marketing experiences
  • Work with writers, producers, production designers, and product marketers

Qualifications

You have:

  • 2+ years of relevant experience
  • A great eye for layout, typography and design principles
  • Familiarity with a variety of design tools
  • Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign and Sketch/Figma

  • Ability to anticipate the needs of partners in preparing production-ready assets.

Even better:

  • Basic photo retouching skills in Photoshop.
  • Experience with animation and software such as After Effects.
