Job Description

The global Square Marketing team is designed to help businesses learn about Square and engage with our ecosystem of products and services. We’re looking for a Performance Marketing Specialist to join our Australian Marketing team. You will help promote new user acquisition growth through Paid Social Channels, whilst providing some support across other performance channels such as Search, Display and Affiliates. 

This newly created role will report into the Australian Performance Marketing Manager and work with other local Australian Marketing functions which develop activity across the full marketing funnel.  This role is suited to someone passionate about customer acquisition and campaign optimisation - you will relish in finding new and better ways of working. You'll build and manage campaigns across a variety of Social channels, working with Square teams to support Square's core payments business, and SaaS products. This role can be based anywhere in Australia.

You Will:

  • Plan and optimise Paid Social campaigns for Squares core set of business products, using performance goals that promote new user adoption.

  • Implement and optimise performance across acquisition and awareness campaigns.

  • Work with social partners to ensure we are following best practices and gaining access to relevant betas.

  • Contribute to and help manage other performance channels such as Search, Display and Affiliates.

  • Build tests to prove out hypotheses and recommend performance optimisations along with best practices - bid/budget changes, audience testing, creative testing.

  • Take a data-driven approach to managing campaigns and form insights on strategy and performance.

  • Help maintain weekly and monthly reports, budgets, campaign performance, return on investment, lifetime value, and other channel metrics.

  • Monitor analytics reporting tools, pointing out areas of importance.

  • Communicate weekly updates, progress reports, timelines, and results.

  • Work closely with other Marketing team members and Squares to ensure acquisition goals are met.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience.
  • Digital or social media advertising experience.

  • Experience with social platforms and knowledge of social best practices.

  • Facebook Business Manager skills with experience with Facebook Marketing Partners.

  • A passion for marketing. You love learning about the industry, platforms and changes.

  • A firm grasp of analytics, A/B Testing, and metrics-driven performance marketing.

  • Advanced Excel skills (can maintain complex spreadsheets).

  • Optional: 

  • Experience with web tracking and multi-touch attribution,SQL knowledge, mobile marketing
