To date, Cash App’s growth has been driven by word of mouth and widespread organic adoption. As we continue to expand into additional banking services we are looking for a Sales and Partnerships Lead who can help accelerate growth across products and verticals. We’re building a state-of-the-art platform to power commerce end-to-end for the largest brands in the world and propel Cash App forward as the leading global digital bank.
Currently our Boost program, which offers customers instant discounts at their favorite merchants, serves as an integral part of Cash App’s approach to customer acquisition and retention. Boost is a one-of-a-kind rewards and advertising platform that delivers incremental revenue to merchant partners and offers customers meaningful, instant discounts where they need them the most. The initial focus for this role would be building out a full sales function around our Boost program from scratch, before expanding scope to additional offerings. This would include:
Developing our overall sales strategy
Building and leading a full-stack Cash App sales team
Working through the existing pipeline of prospective partners
Managing long-term strategic relationships with active partners
This role allows the right candidate to leverage their deep sales and partnerships experience and build Cash App’s entire sales function from the ground up. We believe the opportunity is unparalleled given Cash App’s existing scale, continued growth and the impact the candidate would have on Cash App’s overall success.
Requirements:
Sell Like a Boss: Develop and deliver powerful sales pitches that educate prospective partners of Cash App’s value props. Effectively communicate with senior decision makers at the largest brands in the world.
Relationship management: Own and optimize all Boost partnerships through a scalable sales approach as well as detailed, proactive partner management.
Develop Strategy: Develop a sales strategy that maximizes revenue while maintaining the integrity and quality of the Boost product.
Revenue ownership: Drive incremental revenue for Cash App through Customer (i.e., Advertiser) sales and through providing critical market feedback which flows through to product improvements.
Team building: Build the team, processes and tools required to maximize our new market opportunity while ensuring the performance of current Boost partnerships.
Cross Functional Collaboration: Establish yourself as the go-to sales and partnerships resource for Cash App. Collaborate with Product, Design, and Engineering to drive efficiencies and improvements that flow through to a better customer experience.
Qualifications
You have:
15+ years of sales or business development experience including significant time in a leadership role, preferably in a fast moving technology or financial services company
A scrappy, humble, get-it-done approach to everything you do
Proven ability to sell into high-level executives and navigate customer organizations to connect with the right decision makers.
A strong understanding of the end to end sales lifecycle including experience with developing and evolving the sales process to ensure revenue growth and scalability over time
Deep experience with commercial contracts and negotiations
Deep experience developing, coaching and motivating your team.
Strong written and oral communication skills. You’re a killer presenter.
A demonstrated track record of success, including the ability to artfully pivot and creatively problem solve during a fluid sales process
