Job Description
As a University Programs Specialist, you will improve Square’s recruiting strategy by planning and executing successful events and programs. This is a unique opportunity to partner across different teams and impact our company’s recruiting efforts for new talent. You will represent Square in various capacities, including university and industry recruiting events, while also maintaining an active internship program. You will work cross functionally to understand current hiring needs and plan/execute recruiting events and programs that meet those needs.
You will:
Plan, execute and project manage our university talent programs strategy and recruiting events including conferences, tech talks, virtual/office tours, roundtable sessions, interviews, special events, workshops, and more.
Help source and generate top of funnel activity for university and entry-level roles (internships, recent graduates, and/or career switchers), primarily within software engineering, via events and referrals.
Monitor and measure success and the overall ROI on all programs and recruiting events, and spearhead initiatives that support hiring and conversion.
Improve our university talent brand through diversity-related projects in partnership with the Inclusion & Diversity and Talent Brand teams to strengthen Square’s employer brand.
Manage year-round programs for all university hires, including interns and full time hires. This may include allocation, onboarding, and event programming.
Execute nurture and exposure programs, including Square’s Code Camp, and maintain relationships with program alums.
Build strong relationships with managers internally to run hiring manager trainings and serve as a resource as needed.
Partner with internal and external stakeholders to develop and deliver talent brand collateral to all events.
Qualifications
You have:
3+ years related experience in recruiting and/or university relations
An understanding of the recruiting function and process to partner effectively with recruiters and the broader Talent team
A proven track record of strong project management and organizational skills
Ability to work cross-functionally and make recommendations and drive solutions based on data
Demonstrated creativity of going beyond university job fairs and interview events to engage candidates
Experience working with underrepresented communities
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to develop relationships within and outside of Square
