Job Description
The Learning & Programs (L&P) Project Manager will be responsible for the tactical development, implementation, execution, and coordination of People team programs and learning initiatives. Square’s L&P team is small and mighty: you will be spending 70% of your time project managing and the remaining on other learning and development tasks such as content development, managing vendors, facilitation etc. Your role involves collaborating closely with the HR business partners and other cross-functional teams.
The ideal candidate is a self-motivated team player with a strong sense of ownership and a "get things done" attitude. You’re effective at managing multiple projects at once, very detail-oriented and organized, like to be busy and productive, learn quickly, and have a track record of being adaptable in a fluid, high-growth environment.
You Will:
Project manage L&P projects so they are delivered on-time, within scope, and within budget.
Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
Develop detailed project plans to monitor and track progress
Contribute to L&P projects by doing research around best practices and developing content
Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects
Manage the relationships with all stakeholders throughout project life cycles
Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques
Perform and assess risk management to minimize project risks, and escalate project risks to management when needed
Create, organize, and maintain comprehensive project documentation and reporting
Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors
Support content development, content design, and facilitate L&P course offerings when needed
Qualifications
You have:
BA/ BS degree or practical experience
3+ years managing organizational projects and programs
2+ years in Learning & Development, human resources, organization development or other related field
Excellent analytical skills; strong interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills is a must
Familiarity with tools and practices for project management, stakeholder management and results tracking
Experience with sourcing, vetting and managing vendors
Ability to be flexible, adaptable and solutions-oriented in the face of problems
Passion for trying, learning, improving, and sharing best practices
Proactive team member with excellent attention to detail and follow through; Strong sense of urgency to drive projects to completion
Ability to balance competing priorities in a fast-paced environment, and push back on stakeholders when necessary
Even Better:
Have a degree in adult learning, organizational development, organizational behavior, industrial-organizational psychology, human resources, or equivalent
Have a project management certification
Experience with public speaking or facilitation
Experience with Learning Management Systems
