Job Description
We are looking for a creative, organized, and results-oriented individual to join Square as a Growth Marketing Manager, on the Square for Retail team. The Growth Marketing Manager will work closely with the product team to achieve the team’s marketing objectives and drive growth for the business. This role will have a strong emphasis on the creation, execution, and optimization of marketing campaigns including email, in-product, and offline channels. Success in this role means you are able to design, launch and analyze marketing campaigns to drive business goals and engagement across Square’s products.
The ideal candidate is an energetic self-starter, motivated to dive in and learn by doing. He or she can ramp up quickly, partner well with cross-functional teams, and work efficiently and effectively against goals.
You will:
Have a holistic understanding of the entire funnel across marketing and product touchpoints
Lead the ideation and execution of campaigns that drive growth for our business, partnering closely with product, engineering, data, design, legal, creative, copy, channel managers, and marketing operations
Drive the creative development process for marketing materials by collaborating with Design, Copywriting, Legal, Operations and other Channel Teams to develop clear, compelling, and differentiated marketing collateral across channels
Partner with our PMM to develop a cross-channel demand generation strategy including audience segmentation, lead nurturing, marketing automation, and optimization
Generate data-driven hypotheses for improving marketing performance, design and execute A/B tests, and apply knowledge of basic statistics (e.g. sample size, significance) to separate signal from noise
Analyze findings, report on KPIs, and present recommendations to a broader group of stakeholders week over week to drive visibility around incremental funnel optimizations
Partner closely with our product marketing manager (PMM) across products to conceive of acquisition and lifecycle marketing campaigns, as well as identify goals and key performance indicators for programs
Lead implementation of email, in-product, and web campaigns, including set up of audiences, tracking and reporting
Analyze campaign metrics, report on KPIs, and present optimization recommendations for both marketing and web campaigns to the product marketing team
Ensure timely completion of all project milestones while keeping all involved teams informed

Qualifications
You have:
A BA/BS degree
2+ years of professional experience
1+ years in growth, product marketing, digital marketing, or other analytical role
Experience working with creative teams and marketing channel specialists
Knowledge of web strategy and email marketing for both acquisition as well as lifecycle marketing
Demonstrated track record developing and executing A/B tests, analyzing and translating data into business and consumer insights
Superior project management, time management, and attention to detail
Strong quantitative ability, as well as excellent written and oral communication skills
Comfort in a face-paced, entrepreneurial environment where change is common
Experience with marketing automation platforms (Iterable, Marketo, Hubspot or related), testing platforms (Optimizely, Visual Website Optimizer, Bounce Exchange, etc), and analytics tools (Looker, Amplitude, Google Analytics, Adobe Site Catalyst, etc) a plus
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to think and communicate creatively, thoughtfully, and with diverse technical and non-technical groups, spanning all organizational levels
Strong work ethic, intellectual curiosity, and commitment to continuous improvement with the ability to take an idea and bring it to life with minimal supervision
Experience with Contentful, Iterable, Salesforce, and Optimizely a plus
Strong proficiency with Excel or Google Sheets; basic competency in SQL a plus. Foundational knowledge in SQL is helpful with data visualization tools (e.g Looker)
