Job Description
The Partnerships Team builds new and manages existing partner relationships across Square’s platform and products. As a Business Analyst, you will play a critical role in helping Square build a diverse and healthy platform. This role is a hybrid of traditional jobs in sales strategy & planning, financial analysis, and product analytics. You will develop a deep understanding of the performance of partnership products and the sellers using those products. You will need to synthesize insights through the vast amount of data captured by Square, build new data infrastructure, and develop actionable strategies that will help grow our sellers and partnerships. You are expected to collaborate with key stakeholders and external experts, and you feel comfortable interacting with senior management while working in a fast-paced environment.
You will:
Partner with Square’s Partnerships teams to inform growth strategy using data analysis
Use your experience in analytics tools and scientific rigor to produce actionable insights
Design, build and maintain critical data pipelines to ensure highly accurate and reliable business reporting
Act as an advocate of data driven culture at our company: be the subject matter expert on partnerships and its data, and analytics at Square in general
Collaborate with business leaders, subject matter experts, and decision makers to develop success criteria and optimize new products, features, policies, and models
Build visualizations that expose the health and performance of our products and partnerships
Communicate key results to senior management in verbal, visual, and written media
Work with engineers to evangelize data best practices and implement analytics solutions
Qualifications
You have:
2-3 years of industry experience using data analytics to produce impactful insights in payment, product, sales operations, or business roles
Ability to self-prioritize and work in collaboration with multiple partner managers, product managers and marketing managers as a front-line analytics partner
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with diverse technical and non-technical groups, spanning all organizational levels
The ability to answer unstructured business questions and work independently to drive projects and create new processes
Fluency in SQL
High caliber analytical skills, including the ability to pull and manipulate large datasets and present sound analyses to stakeholders as demonstrated through real-world application
The ability to answer unstructured business questions and work independently to drive projects and analytical tasks to conclusion
Experience in common data, analytics, and visualization technologies (Amplitude, Looker)
Bonus:
Experience in programming or scripting to enable ETL development
Familiarity with scripting and data analysis programming languages (e.g. Python, R, etc)
