Job Description

Square is looking for a strategic, creative and results-oriented marketing member to drive Square Japan Demand generation marketing programs including Brand awareness,Contents, Product specific campaign and Partnership marketing. This position ensures that the right customers are getting the right message, through the right channels at the right time. You will be responsible for execution of overall / product specific go-to-market / demand generation program working closely with all the stakeholders such as Japan cross-functional team as well as global teams .

The ideal candidate will have a passion for representing our sellers voice in the market while having strong understanding of product strategy and positioning, and a track record of cross-functional coordination to launch demand generation and go-to-market execution from social, contents to partnership marketing. They should also possess a breadth of functional experience in product positioning, partnership management, and demonstrate strong execution capability.

You will:

  • Define the strategy, roadmap and success metrics for Square Japan demand generation program execution including Brand awareness,Contents, Product specific campaign and Partnership marketing

  • Be the trusted voice of sellers by surfacing qualitative and quantitative insights to shape the product direction and brand messaging

  • Coordinate with stakeholders in a global setting to drive Japan's growth by working on a variety of channels from social campaigns to co-marketing with our partners

  • Collaborate with marketing channels, PR, analytics, sales and Customer Success team to develop cross-functional effort.

  • Identify target customers, their needs, and how Square brand will meet those needs


You have:

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience. 

  • 3+ years of brand marketing experience and 3+ go-to-market strategy. Experience in B2B branding is a plus.

  • Experience in communicating with senior executives and internal stakeholders, and influencing cross-functional team

  • Strong quantitative analytical ability and excellent written and verbal communication skills both in Japanese and English

  • Comfort in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, start-up environment

  • Genuine interest in and curiosity about Technology, small Business and Finance
