Job Description

Square is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join the Square Corporate Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) group. The FP&A team is responsible for managing financial trends of the business, including the annual financial plan, regular forecast and outlook processes, determining capital allocation decisions across our business, and providing analytical support to Square management.  This position will operate in a dynamic, results-oriented environment, and will be a key contributor to the management decision making process across the business.

We are looking for experienced finance professionals who will work as members of Squares Corporate Finance & Strategy team, and who will directly influence key elements of Squares overall financial forecast, operational execution, and strategic decision making.

You will:

  • Manage workforce planning for the Corporate FP&A team. This includes forecasting and reporting on every expense item related to personnel as well as headcount planning and reconciliation across the company.

  • Provide analytical support for ad-hoc projects related to workforce planning.

  • Contribute to financial commentaries and documents to support key financial deliverables.

  • Contribute to the management of key financial processes including annual planning, quarterly and monthly forecast adjustment cycles, and the incremental investment cycle.

  • Develop new processes or streamline existing processes relating to financial planning/reporting.

  • Develop metrics to track team-specific and company-wide trends, identify opportunities, clearly communicate recommendations, and collaborate across all levels of the organization.

  • Support ad hoc projects and help define systems improvements to support Squares growth.  


You have:

  • A Bachelors Degree in Finance or related field

  • 3+ years of relevant experience in a high growth corporate finance environment.  Experience in a high-tech company would be helpful

  • Excellent proficiency in Excel

  • Experience with financial systems such as Hyperion or TM1

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Ability to multitask and prioritize

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Exceptional judgement and maturity, including an ability to execute independently and work with team members of all levels

  • Basic understanding of the payments industry and a commitment to Squares purpose of Economic Empowerment
