Job Description

Square is seeking a manager to join the Square Corporate Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) group. The FP&A team is responsible for managing financial trends of the business, including the annual financial plan, regular forecast and outlook processes, determining capital allocation across our business, and for providing analytical support to Square management.  This position will operate as an individual contributor in a dynamic, results-oriented environment, and will be a key contributor to the management decision making process across the business.

We are looking for an experienced finance professional who will work as a member of Square’s Corporate Finance & Strategy team, and who will directly influence key elements of Square’s overall financial forecast, operational execution, and strategic decision making.

You will:

  • Manage key financial processes, including forecasting, budget planning, quarterly outlooks, and others.

  • Contribute to financial commentaries and documents to support key financial deliverables.  

  • Develop new processes or streamline existing processes relating to financial planning/reporting.

  • Partner with the Investor Relations and Accounting teams to develop external financial guidance and investor communications

  • Develop recommendations for investments across our business both as part of our annual plan and our quarterly reinvestment cycles

  • Develop metrics to track team-specific and company-wide trends, identify opportunities, clearly communicate recommendations, and collaborate across all levels of the organization.

  • Support ad hoc projects and help define systems improvements to support Square’s growth.  

Qualifications

You have:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or related field

  • 4+ years of relevant experience in a high growth corporate finance environment with heavy emphasis on analytics.  Experience in a high-tech company would be helpful

  • Excellent proficiency in Excel and financial systems such as Hyperion or TM1  

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Ability to multitask and prioritize

  • Exceptional judgement and maturity, including an ability to execute independently and work with team members of all levels

  • Basic understanding of the payments industry and a commitment to Squares purpose of Economic Empowerment

Even better:

  • Experience with SQL is a plus

  • An MBA is a plus
