Job Description

What will you be responsible for as part of this role?
● Lead team of Accountants and Data Integrity team members to achieve departmental
goals by providing direction, coaching, and timely performance feedback; support team
training, career development planning, and provide work assignments with growing levels
of responsibility.
● Lead implementation of new system for our cash collections and commission receivable
tracking, collaborating with our technology department to enhance the overall revenue
recognition process
● Manage all aspects of revenue recognition, including detailed revenue calculators and all
related inputs (e.g., placement, persistency, commission rates, etc.).
● Oversee monthly reconciliations performed by the Data Integrity team as well as account
reconciliations over various general ledger accounts.
● Maintain repository and deep understanding of current and former carrier contracts,
including amendments and supporting commission rate schedules.
● Oversee the interaction of such contract terms with the Company’s accounting models.
● Perform technical accounting evaluation to determine appropriate revenue recognition.
● Review and analyze lifetime value model outputs before creation of entries to the general
ledger.
● Assist with contract reviews for carriers and other current or potential partners, including
insight and guidance into value creation and comparison across partners.
● Manage all aspects of cash receipts, including detailed reporting and comparisons of
actuals vs. projections.
● Manage quarterly receivable valuation as performed by independent third parties.
● Work closely with FP&A on various forecasts inputs and variance analysis.

General: Roles & Responsibilities
● Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements, including related
footnotes and required disclosures.
● Extensive involvement with annual financial statement audit.
● Perform analysis of financial metrics, key performance indicators, and budget vs. actual.
● Maintain an advanced knowledge of accounting standards and trends.
● Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

Who are you?
● Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field
● Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
● Strong accounting and financial analysis expertise and fluency in analyzing data
● Ability to define problems and make recommendations which support the strategic
direction of the organization
● Ability to multi-task and to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
● Proven ability to develop and motivate staff
● Demonstrated ability to take initiative and work collaboratively and independently
● Solid verbal and written communication and presentation skills
● Minimum five years in a Accounting and/or Finance Department with at least two years
prior experience serving in a team lead and/or management role

How can you set yourself apart?
● Extensive knowledge of ASC 606 revenue recognition in the insurance broker industry
● Workday ERP system experience
● CPA with public accounting experience
● Experience with implementing new system for commission receivable reporting
