ABOUT US:

The Marketing Cloud Platform team’s mission is to empower stream aligned teams to build our marketing technology products better, faster and safer. We enable product teams to build customer-facing features by solving common infrastructure and operational challenges. We do this by providing self-service tools, reusable services and guidelines.

Our services and tools are mostly written in Typescript and deployed to AWS (Lambda, SQS, DynamoDB, RDS). For deployments we are using Terraform and Gitlab CI/CD. For frontends we are providing a component-library which is based on Vue.js.

We are a small team that collaborates closely with several product engineering teams. We believe in close collaboration, continuous improvement, and engineering excellence through practices like pair programming, TDD, and small iterative changes.

THE CHALLENGE:

As a Staff Engineer in the Marketing Cloud Platform team, you will help abstract and solve common engineering challenges across the full stack. This includes reusable IaC modules, CI/CD job templates, Identity and Access Management (IAM), frontend components, and tools improving code quality. In this position you would collaborate with developers of different teams to give guidance and ensure consistency across our teams to help them deliver customer value faster.

ABOUT YOU:

  • Professional experience working in agile teams using an object-oriented programming language

  • Professional experience working with backend and database technologies

  • Professional experience working with at least one frontend framework, like Vue.js, React or similar

  • Experience with CI/CD tools, like GitLab, Jenkins or similar

  • Experience with infrastructure as code tools, like Terraform, Cloudformation or similar

  • Professional experience with at least one cloud provider, like AWS, GCP or similar

  • Passion for clean coding and automated testing

  • Keen interest in new technologies and learning and willingness to mentor and share knowledge with others

Key responsibilities

  • Collaborate within a small, self-organized agile team to design, build, and evolve platform services.

  • Development and ownership of services through the whole software lifecycle from planning to maintenance.

  • Supporting and giving guidance for product teams with integrating their products into our ads platform

  • Drive technical direction and ensure alignment of engineering practices across teams

RECRUITMENT PROCESS:

  • Initial Screening: A quick chat with our Talent Acquisition Partner to understand your background and expectations.

  • Technical: Theoretical Interview: 60 minutes to discuss your technical skills on the theoretical level with the technical team.

  • Technical: Coding Interview: 60 minutes of live coding where we do not access the end result but rather the candidate’s approach (clean code and thinking process).

  • System Design Interview: 60 minutes to solve a high-level problem with certain requirements.

  • Final Steps: Receive final feedback and if successful, an offer!

Additional Information

The minimum monthly salary for this position is according to the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Overpayment will be considered depending on qualifications and working experience.
