Our division, “Sportradar ad:s” provides data-driven marketing and sponsorship services to the iGaming industry, designed to help deliver significant efficiency improvements for marketing investments. As an Engineering Manager (m/f/d) - Creative Management at Sportradar, you will be responsible for leading a cross-functional product team on the delivery of their roadmap and helping the engineers develop their careers. Working closely with the Product Manager you will own the technical strategy to ensure that the product scales with the demands of our rapidly growing clients. You will play a key role in coaching and mentoring our engineers so that they develop the skills required to grow their careers. This is a hands-on role that will allow you to code whilst balancing the other elements of the role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Member of the Tribe’s Engineering Leadership Group
  • Champagning operational concerns like Security, Incident Management, DevOps, Audit and Compliance
  • Defining the Engineering Roadmap
  • Responsible for recruitment, development, performance management and retention for all team members.
  • Responsible for providing line management duties for all team members to focus on coaching and mentoring techniques aligned with agile principles and values.
  • Responsible for providing an inclusive environment where team members have the freedom and safety to innovate, experiment, and learn from failure.
  • Responsible for providing open and effective communication channels leading to greater knowledge transfer and alignment within the team
  • Responsible for being the local point-of-contact, coordinating with the People Partner, Office Manager and IT Helpdesk, to represent, signpost and assist Engineers based locally in the same office to find support in matters relating to:
  • Equipment and devices
  • Onboarding new engineering members to the team

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of professional experience in agile software development, working on complex systems that serve many users.
  • 2+ years of professional experience line managing a team of engineers.
  • Extensive professional experience developing in one or more high-level programming languages
  • Professional experience with front-end and back-end related technologies in modern software development.
  • Able to communicate effectively in all circumstances with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • A passion for bringing great products into our world through collaboration and ingenuity.

Preferred:

  • Hands-on people and technical leadership experience.
  • Experience with microservices development and operations.
  • Familiarity with multiple cloud providers like Google Cloud and AWS.
  • Experience using AWS serverless technologies such as Lambda and Kubernetes technologies like GKE and EKS.
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as code using either Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
  • Backend development experience (e.g. Go, Python)
  • Experience with different database technologies (Postgres, MongoDB, DynamoDB and BigQuery)
  • Experience building API's using schema like OpenAPI.
  • Experience integrating third party data feeds.
  • Experience building out data pipelines using event driven architecture.
  • Experience using a CI/CD pipeline like gitlab for managing the application lifecycle.
  • Experience of introducing tooling and knowledge sharing to mentor your team.
  • Experience using Docker or other container based solutions.

The minimum monthly salary for this position is according to the Collective Bargaining Agreement, overpayment will be considered depending on qualifications and working experience.
