Job Description 

We’re looking to grow our Sports Media data management team through adding a Product Owner. You will play a critical role in driving the execution and management of a Media Data Service Layer (storage, tooling and services) to drive data quality while unlocking data availability to drive current and future revenue growth. You will play an “offensive coordinator” role to drive execution and achieve our business objectives around quality data management.  Working with top league data such as MLB, NBA, NFL, NHL, and NCAA creating the world's most trusted and comprehensive sports data set, powering live TV broadcasts and fan experiences across the biggest names in sports. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with Product Management to understand (and influence) the project objectives and requirements. 

  • Work directly with the Engineering Lead/Team to ensure a clear and actionable backlog. 

  • Own and drive the project roadmap across multiple project tracks and teams. 

  • Coordinate and manage the project planning process and turn it into actionable efforts to drive execution. 

  • Own and drive the Media Data Service (MDS) layer backlog, writing and prioritizing user stories based on business impact and feasibility, while liaising with many stakeholders across the business to gather requirements and manage dependencies. 

  • Develop strong relationships across Sportradar and act as central point of contract between the MDS development team, SMEs, and downstream stakeholders who use the datasets. 

  • Own the team rituals (e.g., stand-ups, retros etc.) and follow through on all action items. 

  • Ensure functional and nonfunctional features are captured, well-defined and estimated. 

  • Leverage strong communication skills to proactively coordinate and push efforts across multiple teams and stakeholders to drive clarity and alignment 

  • Stay ahead of risks and deviations to the plan to see potential issues before they arise and work to identify and implement mitigation plans to reduce risk and keep the project on track. 

Qualifications

  • Experience: 3-5 years relevant experience as a Project Manager, Program Manager and/or Product Owner working closely with engineering teams and managing large scale projects. 

  • Technical Proficiency: Requires technical understanding and knowledge (not an engineer level), but needs to understand technical concepts and can help translate that into stories/tasks for execution. 

  • Leadership: Proven track record of leading cross-functional teams and managing complex projects from concept to launch. 

  • Organizational: Requires extremely strong organization skills to coordinate complex project details across multiple tracks and teams. 

  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences. 

  • Experience with Agile methodologies and tools (e.g., Scrum, Jira). 

  • Ability to balance technical and business considerations to make informed decisions. 

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. 

  • Passion for sports is a plus!

Additional Information

Pay Range: $90,000 - $125,000
Sportradar intends to offer the selected candidate base pay within this range, dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to experience, qualifications, and location.
