OVERVIEW: 

At Sportradar, we are building a world class, cloud-native, low latency computer vision inference pipeline to bring computer vision workloads to production as one of the core technologies powering Sportradar's sports data collection. 

We are looking for an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer in Europe to join our computer vision and data science research & development team to support our computer vision developments and help us bring this emerging technology to production as one of the core technologies powering Sportradar's sports data collection in the future. 

As a form of AI that enables the visual world to be interpreted and understood in unprecedented depth, Computer Vision will provide fans with evermore immersive experiences whilst delivering richer insights to teams and leagues. Computer Vision is transforming sports data collection 

processes, providing a 100-fold increase in the depth of statistics and data available.

THE ROLE: 

We’re looking for an addition to a group of highly experienced engineers in the Automated Content Team as a Senior DevOps Engineer. Working closely with engineering teams to foster a strong culture of collaboration, system development lifecycles and infrastructure as code practices. 

Through the use of AI and patented algorithms, Sportradar's Automated Capture System films and live streams high-level sporting events from all over the world without any human interaction. Develop and support high quality digital solutions, with a focus on building operational awareness, supporting configuration management and ensuring quality.

THE CHALLENGE:  

To succeed in this role, you have a diverse background in software development as a senior 

technical leader. You are pragmatic and solution oriented. You should have a passion for DevOps, extensive experience of cloud and hybrid-cloud solutions, and an expert level understanding of software quality, reliability, release, and scaling principles. You will have some experience setting up continuous integration/delivery in agile teams. In addition, you will have operational experience with system administration or site reliability engineering which allows you to craft and maintain resilient systems. You will also have a natural desire to automate all things, coach and guide your peer development community, and a passion for reproducible results. 

There are several key challenge areas: 

• DevOps evangelism and mentorship, bringing best practices from central DevOps to the tribes
• Design, build and improve the software delivery lifecycle for a broad array of products and services. 
• Automate the creation and management of our software platforms. 
• Integrate cloud solutions with servers deployed in thousands of sporting venues worldwide 
• Craft reusable frameworks that simplify platform, delivery, and observability. 
• Enable teams to work efficiently and effectively through technology and ways of working solutions. 
• Help drive excellence in development, quality assurance, and operational teams.  

YOUR PROFILE: 

• A technical leader, with a passion for results. 
• Proficient in Kubernetes container orchestration and administration. 
• In depth Cloud experience with AWS. 

• Detailed knowledge of GNU/Linux OS 
• Thorough understanding of networking and hybrid cloud solutions 
• Highly proficient with IaC and Configuration Management tooling, such as Terraform and Cloudformation
• Application development, technical architecture, or application support experience in an agile / continuous delivery environment. 
• Excellent experience creating Operational Awareness through monitoring and alerting solutions.
• Excellent with version control systems (i.e. git) and application lifecycle management. 
• Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines, ideally GitLab CI 
• Strong coding skills, ideally one of Ruby / Python. 
• Excellent communicator. 
• A strong sense of collaboration and personal development. 
• Exposure to machine learning, MLOps, model training or Computer Vision is highly advantageous.
