Job Description

The Senior Program Manager’s primary responsibility is to work with all departments within Spencer Health Solutions to achieve strategic objectives by overseeing multiple project activities. This role is hybrid based, with 75% being on-site at our Morrisville, NC offices. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead key Programs and related Projects associated with the development and commercialization of Spencer products, the spencer platform and the Spencer Operational Infrastructure such that Programs are delivered on-schedule, achieve quality standards and meet cost objectives.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a fast-moving team, to deliver Programs, Projects and Products in accordance with the Spencer Quality Management System and applicable regulations and standards.
  • Help establish and lead the company’s Program Management Office and work closely with Operations, Product Development, QA/RA, Engineering and Product Management teams to develop and execute detailed project plans, inclusive of milestones, and integration points.
  • Manage and work directly with third party contractors, contract manufacturers and strategic partners to keep  them focused and accountable to deadlines, ensuring high quality deliverables.
  • Drive core team meetings and design reviews with relevant groups and partners, creating an effective environment for technical exchanges and decisions on both near and long-term strategies..
  • Coordinate hardware and software validation and qualification activities between Spencer teams and partners.
  • Provide executive summary reports and dashboards, inclusive of achievements, upcoming milestones, schedule blockers and points of escalation.
  • Present scenarios, options and tradeoffs that enable efficient evaluation of project execution options and constraints.
  • Implement best practices and associated tools to enable best in class Program Planning, Project Scheduling, Resource Management, Visual Management, Design Controls, Validation Planning, Technology Transfer and Commercial Launch.
  • Project Management oversight over 1 or more indirect reports,  being able to assign work, oversee performance and inspire personal development.
  • Deploy Project, Resource and Requirements Management tools and tracking methods such that Projects can be managed by data and objective evidence.

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • 8+ years of experience in program management or program strategy specifically in software and SAS services.
  • Demonstrated ability to deploy tools that improve Alignment, Collaboration and Accountability.
  • Experience collaborating to synthesize complex ideas, information, and options into a strategy, plan, or response.
  • Effective communicator that can translate Program Concepts and Ideas into detailed Plans.
  • Exemplary attention to detail with the ability to identify prescriptive actions and provide specific directions.
  • Ability to motivate teams while keeping them accountable, without having direct reporting oversight.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills; bias towards making decisions that are grounded in data and user analysis
  • Experience bringing program management mindset into the healthcare development space.
  • Expertise in commercial and/or clinical pharma
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Familiar with leading and managing Agile software development teams.
 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, science or Engineering discipline preferred.  MBA or equivalent business program experience.
  • Strong healthcare industry experience 
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in a business environment, along with a proven ability to prioritize, organize and deliver on commitments.
  • Demonstrated aptitude in deploying and utilizing schedule and resource management tools effectively.
  • Proven ability to make smart feature decisions versus time-to-market trade-offs.
  • Experience working directly with both marketing and client services/support teams to develop program implementation plans.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and proven ability to lead cross-functional teams through influence versus direct management.
  • Willingness to roll up the sleeves and do whatever is necessary to ensure a great customer experience.
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities and create a sense of urgency in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to present project status and report out on Performance using critical Program KPIs and visuals.
