Job Description

As a DevOps & Information Security Manager, you will be directly responsible for the DevOps personnel and conducting their work.  Setting direction in this area and giving clear goals to the team on how to:

  • Conduct analysis, creating technical/functional specs, configuration, testing, implementation, system administration and support of new and existing applications and processes to enable development teams to more rapidly release medical device software and systems
  • This role will provide expertise that is critical in assisting with the identification of opportunities for the effective use of technology and the implementation of IT solutions on behalf on internal business product development groups.  Under the Information Security Manager, the DevOps Engineer is responsible for collaborating with internal stakeholders, including medical device software development teams and partner information technology resources to support business processes and provide operational efficiency using industry standard technologies.
  • This position will work collaboratively with other IT and software engineering teams to deploy and operate our systems/platforms, and support client utilization.  This will include helping to automate and streamline our operations and processes, along with  building and maintaining tools for deployment, monitoring and operations.  Additionally, this position will troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in our dev, test and production environments.
  • Conduct analysis and monitor environments for security and uncover network vulnerabilities.  Work collaboratively with the Quality Team to write company wide best practices to ensure IT security.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Sr. DevOps:

  • Manages DevOps personnel and their work
  • Play a key role in maintaining, developing and securing AWS infrastructure that hosts our platform
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated code testing and deployment
  • Build and maintain monitoring and logging solutions
  • Expand our infrastructure footprint to multiple regions globally
  • Lead internal security and compliance meetings and initiatives
  • Work collaboratively with other engineers as well as product, clinical and software teams at Spencer Health Solutions
  • Coach and mentor fellow engineers
  • Offer expertise and promote a developer driven DevOps culture

Information Security:

  • Monitor infrastructure networks for security issues
  • Investigate and document security breaches and other cybersecurity incidents
  • Design and perform tests to uncover network vulnerabilities
  • Fix detected vulnerabilities to maintain a high-security standard
  • Develop company-wide best practices for IT security
  • Perform/coordinate penetration testing
  • Research security enhancements and make recommendations to management
  • Stay up to date on information technology trends, security standards and news
  • Respond to customer security documentation requests
  • Email security – phishing and other impacts

Qualifications

  • BS degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering
  • 8+ years in a cloud infrastructure/ system admin role
  • Experience with AWS services and deployment
  • Experience with Docker and Stack deployment
  • Experience in building CI/CD infrastructure, Jenkins
  • Experience with hardening servers, securing data and troubleshooting environments
  • Experience with Linux, shell scripting and network architecture
  • Experience with information security protocols for network, web based products, emails
  • Experience with Security audits
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience working in a regulated environment
  • Ability to read, understand, and execute job functions in accordance with  Standard Operating Procedures

PREFERRED

  • Database administration (MySQL, AWS Redshift, DynamoDB, and DocumentDB)
  • Good understanding of HIPAA compliance
