Job Description

The Senior Staff Accountant will be an integral part of the finance and accounting team and will report to the Senior Accounting Manager. The Senior Staff Accountant is responsible for processing invoices, payroll, T&E and related payments using appropriate financial systems. The ideal candidate is excited to make a difference in the lives of patients, and eager to learn and expand their knowledge base.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage purchase orders and sales orders, including related vendor bills and customer invoices
  • Manage the T&E process and driving submissions on a timely basis
  • Ensure invoices are properly coded and accurately entered into the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable sub-ledgers
  • Help manage payroll processing on a semi-monthly basis
  • Proactively maintain the monthly close calendar
  • Estimate and accrue outstanding balance sheet and P&L accounts
  • Perform balance sheet account reconciliations as part of monthly close
  • Research questions arising during financial statement close and review processes
  • Assisting in the tax filing process (1099, income taxes, sales & use tax, etc.), either directly or via external partner
  • Help maintain vendor database, including new vendor setup and applications for credit terms
  • Provide documentation and support during annual financial statement audits
  • Maintain timely and accurate department files and historical documents

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance
  • 4+ years’ experience in accounts payable, payroll, and general ledger
  • ERP Experience; familiar with using payroll systems and T&E systems such as Paylocity and Tallie
  • Analytical proficiency including advanced Excel knowledge with ability to generate accurate and complex analyses
  • Willing to do what it takes for the Company to be successful and compliant with GAAP
  • Work independently and proactively; strong attention to detail especially relating to financial close
  • Strong team player and a leader who listens and positively reacts to performance feedback
  • Communicate effectively and work collaboratively with employees at all levels
  • Handle and prioritize multiple projects and changing priorities in a fast-paced environment

PREFERRED

  • Industry experience include manufacturing, software technology, and/or healthcare
  • CPA
  • NetSuite experience
