Job Description

The Sr. Accounting Generalist will be an integral part of the finance and accounting team and will report to the Sr. Accounting Manager. The Sr. Accounting Generalist is also responsible for ensuring invoices are properly coded and accurately entered into the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable sub-ledgers, in addition to performing other accounting department responsibilities. Additionally, the Sr. Accounting Generalist will help manage the Company T&E and payroll processes and be a power user of several related programs necessary to effectively complete close.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Establish and maintain relationships with department coworkers, department heads and vendors to support invoice processing, issue resolution and budget compliance
  • Process invoices in NetSuite; verify proper approvals; match receipt of goods/services against purchase orders; ensure proper general ledger accounting
  • Audit, verify and process expense reports using expense administration software
  • Help manage payroll processing on a semi-monthly basis
  • Estimate and accrue outstanding assets, liabilities, and revenue at month-end
  • Assist with preparation of financial reporting package
  • Identify billable events; obtain evidence of customer acceptance; support proper revenue recognition
  • Perform balance sheet account reconciliations as part of monthly close
  • Research questions arising during financial statement close and review processes
  • Provide documentation and support during annual financial statement audits
  • Maintain department files and historical documents
  • Prepare quarterly Sales & Use Tax Returns; record use tax on purchases if necessary
  • Prepare annual IRS Forms 1099 and 1096 filings
  • Update and maintain vendor database, including new vendor setup and applications for credit terms

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting 
  • Minimum of 2+ years recent working experience in accounts payable required; other accounting cycles a plus
  • Analytical proficiency includes advanced Excel knowledge with ability to generate accurate and complex analyses
  • Work independently and proactively; strong attention to detail especially relating to financial close
  • Strong team player and a leader who listens and positively reacts to performance feedback

  • Communicate effectively and work collaboratively with employees at all levels
  • Handle and prioritize multiple projects and changing priorities in a fast paced healthcare technology environment
  • Preferred industry experiences include manufacturing, software technology, and healthcare

  • Excited to make a difference in the lives of patients, and eager to learn and expand knowledge base
