Job Description

As a Database Developer you will be responsible for the design, development, documentation, and maintenance of reporting and data integration processes required for operational reporting. We are looking for individuals with a strong passion for building and optimizing data pipelines and data models.  The ideal candidate will have database developer experience in MySQL, DynamoDB, AWS, ETL, Tableau, Python and SQL coding and is eager to systematically solve complicated technical problems.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the design, development, and maintenance of automated, scalable data storage solutions for both structured and unstructured data.
  • Provide guidance and support to the application development team ensuring responsive and scalable solutions.
  • Monitor and continuously improve ETL processes to assemble large, complex data sets using clean Python and SQL code focusing on data reliability, efficiency, and quality.
  • Lead architectural data discussions to ensure customer success when creating new data solutions and products.
  • Continuously research and integrate new data management and software engineering technologies into existing data structures and create POCs to constantly evolve our technology stack.
  • Support compliance and regulations standards with data stewardship and data security policies.
  • Analyze data sources and target data models
  • Create and maintain technical design documentation
  • Analyze and identify problem areas and plan/implement steps for process improvement

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in a quantitative field.
  • 5+ years of direct data engineering experience and proficiency with SQL and Python.
  • Expert knowledge of data structures, data modeling, and data analysis techniques.
  • Proven experience building and optimizing data pipelines and data models.
  • Experience with REST API’s and cloud infrastructure and services (AWS, Azure).
  • Hands on experience with MySQL and DynamoDB
  • Superb communication skills and ability to distill complex technical issues to business audiences.
  • Comfort in a fast-paced agile environment, and the ability to consistently revise your approach in response to new information.
  • Intellectual curiosity and creativity, with willingness and ability to learn and apply new skills.
  • Experience working in a regulated environment
  • Ability to read, understand, and execute job functions in accordance with  Standard Operating Procedures
