Spectrum Software Technology (SST) is currently seeking a Sr Test Engineer for our civil aviation programs. BS with 20+ years in the field and strong FAA experience. This position is located at the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)’s William J. Hughes Technical Center adjacent to the Atlantic City International Airport, New Jersey. 

Supporting the V&V Strategies and Practices Branch in developing new test and evaluation methods and approaches required as the FAA moves toward the implementation of NextGen capabilities.

Knowledge and experience in both Developmental Test (DT) and Operational Test (OT) phases of the equipment acquisition life cycle.

Knows testing and can direct the updating of policy and procedures leading the team.

Help define the challenges to test organizations as the FAA moves toward the development of enterprise capabilities, identify solutions for those challenges, and define an implementation strategy for the solutions. 

Helpful also if they understand the operational and testing and evaluation (IOT&E) of the entire National Airspace System (NAS), subsystems and interface

Good communication as they will be a member of the Test Standards Board (TSB)

Must understand the big picture of testing and how it impacts systems and users.

Implement test plans, migration plans, and delivery plans.

Prepare design documents and presentations. Clearly describe the design, including the rationale for decisions and implications of decisions

Applies senior-level engineering knowledge and systems analysis concepts and techniques to develop and apply solutions to engineering, scientific, or management problems.

Understand OT, OPS evaluation, CONOPS, and Mission Needs

Have knowledge, experience and skills with all aspects of system testing, including developing test documentation, plans, procedures and reports.

BS in Engineering, Comp Sci or related

20+ years of related experience

Previous FAA experience

Experience in writing and updating test plans & procedures

Based in NJ or PA
