Position   Production Technician

Location  Durham, NC 27712

Duration  12 Months

Shift:         12 hours rotating shift

Note:

Merck requires us to conduct a SAM test and that candidates must pass this test prior to their resume being submitted to the manager.  The SAM test is a 2 part test, the first is a brief 15 minute online exam that can be taken remotely (at home).  The 2nd part is a longer, 2-3 hour version of the test that must be administered onsite at Spectraforce in Raleigh.  The test covers behavioral questions and some basic skills questions (including math).

After the candidate passes both SAM tests, we can present the resume to any open positions we have at Merck in Durham.  The Merck managers then select who they wish to interview.  Passing the SAM does not guarantee that the person will interview. 

Ultimately, it is up to our client manager 

Qualification:

• Basic computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
• Prior experience working in a manufacturing environment is preferred.

Responsibilities:

• Performs various operational tasks as part of an empowered team: (30% - Clean Room Mgt/Materials)
• Set-up & breakdown of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) space/equipment, accurately & efficiently moves process materials (up to 50lbs) in accordance w/ procedure.
• Works in compliance w/ procedures, doc.'s, Gov. regulations, safety pgrms (appropriate SOP's), follow lean mfg. principles & current mfg. practices (cGMPs). Manage inv. & tasks for aseptic growth.
• Equipment prep & movement. (60% - Operations Support) Operates/monitors equipment (incl. but not limited to ; RCCS, shell freezers, Wheaton Carts, Tube Welders) as deemed by skill level to set QC status & expiry of sterile equipment, provides materials & support/maintain equipment, systems knowledge (SAP, MES, Kanbans, PLC), sample delivery.
• Labelling & Inventory mgmt. of clean/sterile equipment, tsfr of samples (10% - Info Tsfr) Safety training/compliance events.
