Job Description

As the Training and Development Manager, you will be responsible for shaping the organization's learning and development initiatives. Reporting to the Vice President of HR, you will collaborate across all departments to design and implement comprehensive training programs that align with business goals and enhance employee capabilities. Your role will focus both on driving a culture of continuous learning for our team and ensuring a consistent and impactful customer journey for our doctors. This role is both strategic and hands on. This person will guide the overall training vision for our customer journey and create the path to outperforming our organizational performance standards while also working in the day to day as a subject matter expert and hands on instructional designer and trainer.

This role is the glue that binds our Mission, Vision and Values to organizational performance and a world-class Customer Journey.

You will:

  • Design and deliver engaging training experiences aligned with Spear's culture and operational excellence focus.
  • Conduct high-quality, multi-channel training to drive positive performance outcomes.
  • Assess and address training needs, developing innovative programs for Spear team members.
  • Facilitate interdepartmental communication to break down silos and enhance collaboration.

Impact on Customer Journey

  • Develop and implement go-to-market training strategies for new products and new feature launches.
  • Collaborate with Product, Marketing and Sales teams to design and deliver effective sales training programs.
  • Work closely with the Customer Success and Consulting training teams to ensure cohesive, consistent experience and customer journey across all departments and all client touchpoints.

Impact on Technical Proficiency

  • Ensure deep dental industry knowledge across all team members.
  • Partner with the technology team to create technology training programs for both existing and new tools. Partner on implementation and training.

Impact on Culture

  • Ensure comprehensive understanding of Spear's standards of excellence among employees and foster a high-performance culture.
  • Serve as a cultural leader, embodying and promoting Spear's values.
  • Oversee new hire orientation, including the delivery of Spear's Immersion Program, ensuring a consistent and impactful onboarding experience through the first 90 days.
  • Ownership of all Diversity, Equity and Inclusion training programs.


  • Bachelor’s degree in business, communications, human resources, or a related field; Master's degree is a plus.
  • Stellar 5+ years of experience in learning and development with a demonstrated history of delivering training content and creating a highly engaging learning platform.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with the dental industry is desirable.
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion initiatives.
