Job Description

Spark Growth is seeking a Paid Social Media Manager to join our fast-growing agency in New York. You will be a valued member of the paid team, deepening our paid social expertise, working hand in hand with other paid social, SEM and digital advertising experts and analysts, and communicating the value of a strategic paid social media program to clients and prospects. 

The ideal candidate is analytical with hands-on experience in developing and managing paid social media campaigns not just on Facebook, but across social platforms, ad types and audiences, from B2B lead gen ads on LinkedIn to promoted buyable pins on Pinterest.  You think strategically and match the client’s message to the platform and ad type, keeping the broader strategy front of mind and contributing to it whenever possible.  Successful candidates will be hungry for knowledge, always learning and exploring new paid channels and opportunities. Excellent communication skills and an entrepreneurial spirit are a must.

Core Responsibilities
Responsible for developing, executing and measuring successful paid social media strategies for clients across a variety of industries. This includes:

  • Develop and articulate strategies to achieve client's objectives through appropriate digital paid social media types and platforms
  • Help clients set goals, KPIs, and budgets that optimize available ad spend across ad types, campaigns and platforms
  • Implement, execute and optimize social paid strategies, including optimizing not only on platform, but among social platforms
  • Create/oversee analytics and insights reporting for paid social media showing our campaigns’ real business impact
  • Communicate key insights and business-impacting results to clients
  • Develop and communicate paid social media proposals to prospects in a way that is clear, strategic and ties back to their business objectives
  • Manage junior team members (if applicable) and work in a growing team to execute paid social media objectives and train team members to include paid social in their strategic planning and execute it, when appropriate
     

Qualifications

  • Strategic in your approach to paid social media (aligning tactics to a strategy that delivers on client goals)
  • Strong analytics capability and ability to present key insights and data to clients
  • Resourceful and creative in developing strategies for clients with limited resources (budgets are not necessarily small, but there is still a need to prioritize and optimize the spend, given the multitude of possibilities)
  • A self-starter who can develop an effective paid social strategy with minimal guidance 
  • Collaborative with other department leads (e.g., organic social, email marketing, design) and team members, working towards the best solutions and campaigns for our clients
  • Ability to lead and guide junior team members
  • Deep understanding of the digital marketing world (with a focus on paid social media) and trends
  • Strong attention to detail, organized and deadline-oriented 
  • Ability to develop and present compelling and strategic paid social media strategies and proposals to prospects
  • Business-impact focused, ensuring we are constantly driving strong results

Core Qualifications

 

  • Agency background with client-facing experience 
  • Experience managing $100k-1M+ ad spend budgets (per campaign)
  • 3+ years experience creating and managing paid social media campaigns that exceed client expectations across paid social media channels including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, YouTube, LinkedIn, etc.
  • Experience leveraging Google Analytics to prove success, when applicable
  • Experience developing an A/B testing plan for paid social campaigns 
  • Experience managing and optimizing campaigns directly using paid platforms (e.g. G Facebook Business Manager, on-platform advertising), from strategy development to conversion tracking setup to day-to-day execution to deriving insight from the data
  • Experience using Excel and Powerpoint to present paid social media strategies and campaign reports for clients and sharing with clients in a results-focused, compelling way
  • Exceptional time management skills and ability to handle competing priorities 
  • Experience working with a cross-functional team to develop strong client campaigns and strategies

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with broader analytics, including social listening, through platforms like Sysomos or Crimson Hexagon
  • Mobile paid experience
  • Managing/mentoring junior team members in executing paid social media campaigns
  • Experience with other customer acquisition platforms/channels such as SEM, native advertising, Adroll, email marketing and affiliate marketing. 
  • Experience with Google tag manager 
  • Basic HTML knowledge
