About the role

The Manager of DC Operations will serve as primary liaison between the Spanx Corporate Team and the 3PL DC Team and will encompass orchestrating and supervising activities essential for operational excellence across our warehousing and transportation functions, representing our brand inside the 3PL facility. By joining our dynamic and expanding distribution network, boasting our warehouse presence, you will contribute significantly to our company’s profitability. This role also requires seamless collaboration with diverse support teams including Supply & Planning, Customer Experience, Sales and Warehouse Management to drive efficiency in a fast-paced and evolving environment.

This role is based at our DC in Flowery Branch, Georgia four days a week, and reports to our Senior Manager, Logistics.

  • Strategically partner with 3PL partner to foster environment of continuous improvement and set manageable goals for process and performance improvement at DC.
  • Drives development of key metrics and monitors success across DC operations with the goal to reduce costs and increase efficiency.
  • Maintains KPIs and partners with warehouse to ensure KPIs are met across Inbound, B2C, B2B and Returns operations.
  • Responsible for maintaining warehouse spend against preset budget and Finance plan.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to enhance and streamline our systems and processes, including customer service levels, minimizing lead times and optimizing network efficiency.
  • Partners with both Spanx internal teams and 3PL team to deliver optimal performance within budget.
  • Works with 3rd Party DC Management Team to develop strategies and objectives to maximize productivity and manage expenses for Spanx’ distribution center.
  • Oversee day to day operations and shipping requirements for wholesale retailers, adhering to meticulous compliance standards.
  • Responsible for managing and helping set budget targets for 3rd Party DC and ensuring targets are met.
  • Controls supply inventory and partners with vendors to maintain min/max supply inventory levels.
  • Project Management of all on-site projects, including kitting, rebranding, price changes and warehouse improvements and will be responsible for communicating project process through the organization.
  • Cultivate and manage relationships with freight carrier & brokers, skillfully negotiating freight rates (FTL, LTL, etc.), and selecting optimal transportation methods for cost efficiency.
  • Hold carriers accountable for all performance related issues.
  • Build and sustain relationships between warehouses and carriers/brokers, minimizing communication gaps or execution breakdowns.
  • Analyze projected growth against capacities to maintain and ensure proper storage, receiving, and shipping capabilities for present and future business.

Qualifications

We require…

  • 5+ years of experience in 3PL management within a brand setting
  • 5+ years transportation management experience
  • Previous experience managing freight carrier & broker relationships, coupled with successful negotiation of freight rates (FTL, LTL, etc.)
  • Comprehensive understanding of 3PL warehouse operations, fulfillment, and logistics functions. Cost Plus experience is preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of shipping, receiving, inventory management and pricing structure
  • Experience managing domestic 3PL operations and understanding of global logistics preferred
  • Experience with and/or implementing process improvements
  • DTC e-commerce and retail experience is a plus
  • Advanced expertise in Excel
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation and project management skills
  • A collaborative disposition, hard-working, organized, and goal-oriented
  • Capability to manage multiple moving pieces and work with diverse groups
  • Aptitude for effective and productive work with minimal supervision
