Summary:

To maintain high-calibre Linux and BioIT support within Source BioScience with the aim of supporting existing products and services as well as to develop new products and services that will contribute to the continued growth of the company

Key responsibilities and duties include but are not limited to:

  • Managing the Linux Environment that supports the BIO-IT service, Including Red Hat and Ubuntu clients.
  • Ensuring the Linux environment is kept up to date
  • Supporting users of the Linux Environment
  • Support the development and automation of existing and new analysis services across the entire portfolio.
  • Keep abreast of current technology trends within Bioinformatics (both software development and infrastructure/equipment/networking) in order to gain professional accreditation, to perform technical tasks outside specified area of expertise, and to understand and work on new technologies where required.
  • Research and understand the company's current and future requirements for Bioinformatics. Balance these needs with the resources that are available in order to fulfil the vision.
  • Deliver high-quality Bioinformatics service to internal and external clients in a timely and professional manner.
  • Play a key role in commercial endeavours in relation to Bioinformatics, working directly with the commercial team as necessary. Confident verbal and written presentation skills in order to represent the company with credibility in customer presentations.
  • To respect the confidentiality of all matters that may be learned relating to employment and other members of staff
  • To dress and act in a professional manner at all times as per Company Policy
  • To lead by example, demonstrating professionalism to colleagues commensurate with post.
  • To promote all aspects of quality control. To develop and ensure continuing high standards of performance by the participation in all necessary internal and external quality control measures and schemes
  • To comply with safe working practises in accordance with Company safety policies.
  • To participate in the Annual Joint Staff Review process, in accordance with Company Policy.
  • To perform any other duties as may be reasonably required commensurate with grade and experience.
