Job Description – Oracle Fusion Data Migration & Configuration Specialist

Job Title: Oracle Fusion Data Migration & Configuration Specialist

Educational Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Finance, or a related discipline.
  2. Oracle Fusion Cloud certification in relevant functional modules will be preferred.

Key Responsibilities

1. Data Migration & Conversion

  1. Lead end-to-end Oracle Fusion data migration and conversion activities from legacy systems, Oracle EBS, or other source applications.
  2. Analyse source data, identify data gaps, cleansing requirements, duplicates, and transformation requirements.
  3. Prepare and maintain data mapping documents, transformation rules, conversion templates, and reconciliation reports.
  4. Perform data extraction, cleansing, transformation, validation, and loading into Oracle Fusion.
  5. Develop and execute data migration using relevant Oracle tools and methods, including:
  6. FBDI (File-Based Data Import)
  7. ADFdi
  8. HDL/HSDL, where applicable
  9. REST APIs
  10. SOAP Web Services
  11. Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC), where applicable
  12. Manage full-load, incremental-load, mock migration, cutover, and post-go-live data migration activities.
  13. Perform pre-load and post-load validation and reconciliation between source and Oracle Fusion.
  14. Investigate and resolve data import errors, interface failures, rejected records, and data quality issues.
  15. Ensure data migration activities are completed within agreed project timelines and cutover windows.

2. Oracle Fusion Functional Configuration

  1. Configure and maintain Oracle Fusion Cloud applications based on business and functional requirements.
  2. Perform setup and configuration activities using the Setup and Maintenance work area.
  3. Support configuration of relevant Oracle Fusion modules, depending on project requirements, such as:
  4. Financials
  5. General Ledger
  6. Accounts Payable
  7. Accounts Receivable
  8. Cash Management
  9. Procurement
  10. Projects
  11. HCM
  12. Configure enterprise structures, business units, ledgers, legal entities, reference data sets, approval rules, lookups, value sets, flexfields, and other application setups as applicable.
  13. Configure and maintain descriptive flexfields (DFF), extensible flexfields (EFF), key flexfields (KFF), value sets, and standard/custom lookups.
  14. Analyse business requirements and translate them into Oracle Fusion functional configuration solutions.
  15. Prepare configuration workbooks and maintain complete documentation of setup changes.

3. Configuration Migration & Environment Management

  1. Manage movement of Oracle Fusion configurations across Development, Test, UAT, and Production environments.
  2. Create, validate, export, import, and deploy Oracle Fusion configuration migration sets.
  3. Support full and delta migration activities where applicable.
  4. Validate source and target environment readiness before migration and ensure appropriate release and patch alignment.
  5. Review configuration differences and support impact analysis before deployment.
  6. Identify configurations, security changes, roles, or other artifacts requiring manual migration or separate deployment processes.
  7. Perform post-migration validation and coordinate functional testing to ensure successful deployment. Oracle recommends validating migration sets, reviewing missing roles, and performing functional testing after configurations are applied.
  8. Maintain configuration version control, migration logs, deployment records, and rollback documentation.

4. Cutover & Post-Go-Live Support

  1. Develop and maintain detailed data migration and cutover plans.
  2. Participate in mock cutovers and production deployment activities.
  3. Coordinate pre-cutover, cutover, and post-cutover data validation.
  4. Provide hypercare support following Oracle Fusion go-live.
  5. Resolve high-priority configuration and data-related incidents.
  6. Identify opportunities to automate and improve data migration and configuration processes.

  7. Strong documentation and governance discipline.

 

Total Experience Expected: 04-06 years
