Job Description
- Support the definition, review, and refinement of security architectures for end‑to‑end satcom systems, covering both space and ground segments.
- Analyse system and subsystem designs for compliance with relevant security requirements.
- Identify risks, propose mitigations, and ensure proper implementation of security-by-design principles.
- Contribute to threat modeling, vulnerability assessments, and risk management activities (STRIDE, attack trees, asset classification).
- Review and validate security mechanisms of solutions relying on 5G/3GPP protocols, including RAN, Core, and NTN (Non-Terrestrial Network) components.
- Ensure proposed solutions comply with 3GPP SA3 security standards, including authentication, encryption, integrity protection, key derivation, and network slicing security.
- Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of 3GPP security releases, known vulnerabilities, and relevant work items.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and customer‑driven security requirements (Gov/Mil, ESA, ECSS, national regulations).
- Support verification of security controls at system and subsystem level.
- Contribute to IV&V (Integration, Verification & Validation) activities focusing on security.
- Prepare and maintain documentation: security concepts, risk assessments, design descriptions, test plans and reports.
- Communicate complex security topics clearly to technical and non‑technical stakeholde
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or similar.
8+ years of experience in security engineering, preferably in satcom, telecom, or critical infrastructure.
- Solid understanding of:
- Satellite communication system architecture (space, ground, interfaces).
- Secure communication protocols (IPsec, TLS, MACsec) and cryptographic principles.
Experience with security risk assessment methodologies.
- Familiarity with security certification frameworks such as Common Criteria.
- Ability to review technical documentation and ensure alignment with security standards.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent technical communication and documentation skills.
