What you will do

Technical Cloud architects are part of the Cloud Ops team accountable to design evolutions of the platforms and to guarantee that new systems remain homogeneous and compatible with SLA target. The person will also be involved in direct customer activities like presales, setup of new customers and advanced support of running environments. Key responsibilities would cover the following aspects-

• POC, design, develop, test, and help to integrate new components to continuously improve the platforms (Core, observability, performances, availability, security)
• Assess and follow-up with R&Ds and Platform Engineers on new or existing technical features. The Technical Cloud Architect also involves himself in the development with R&D and Platform Engineers.
• Assess new technical features quality before full production readiness (Resilience, availability, release management, performances, security, financial effectiveness)
• Assist to integrate new applications in the platforms with service lines Service Delivery Managers and Platform Engineers
• Critically evaluate architecture, processes, and methods of working and work to improve their efficiency in collaboration with the technical architect.
• Ensure Security and compliance are fully taken in account into related architectures and developments.
• Contribute to continuous FinOps optimization to ensure the best quality / cost ratio in relationship with site reliability engineers and platform engineers. Propose optimizations to the directors (RM, SDM, CORP)
• Continuous improvement of best of breed capability - infrastructure, processes, platform, products
• Ensure any new component or any major change is well documented and tested (including resiliency and availability testing) with Site Reliability Engineers and platform Engineers. Assist the Site Reliability Engineers during testing prior go live or major change.
• Involvement in customer needs during presales, build, and run periods to support Run Manager and Service Delivery Manager
• Ensure capability meets the required standards that SaaS & Cloud Services need to conform to (e.g. ISO 27001) and conformity to those standards can be clearly demonstrated and evidenced (also for SRE / tech architects)
• Apply a security by design mindset. This includes cyber security and Disaster Recovery.
• Deliver a high-quality handoff of infrastructure and services to SREs, and in case of escalation by SRE, provide out of hours support in exceptional circumstances or where quality has been deemed to be insufficient.
• Ensure that the design, code & related processes are documented.
• Training / Mentoring (CCoE): Working with different products and functions teams to help them along their cloud journey and deliver on our cloud first strategy and actively share knowledge within S&CS teams to develop cloud skills.
• Keep up with industry trends and apply new best practices back into service and process design (also for architects)

Total Experience Expected: 14-18 years

• Bachelor's or higher engineering degree in Computer Science, or related technical field, or equivalent additional professional experience.
• 5 years of experience in delivering solutions from concept to production that are based on Java and open-source technologies as an enterprise architect in global organizations.
• 14 - 22 years of industry experience in design, development, deployments, operations and managing non-functional perspectives of technical solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Software integration in a live environment for multiple customers (Application solution, middleware, monitoring, and security)
• Cloud Architecture (as code): AWS, IaaC (Terraform, Packer), Serverless, automated scaling of systems.
• Container Architecture and associated tooling: Docker, Kubernetes, Istio (service Mesh), Helm
• Classic software architecture based on EC2 instances.
• AWS Cloud EC2, S3, Route 53, RDS, EFS, IAM
• System: Linux, other experience is a real advantage
• Good network and security knowledge (Endpoint management, certificates, encryption, key management) hardening, network design, protocols SSL/TLS, OIDC/Oauth2
• Security/Authentication: TLS, OAuth, zero trust architecture.
• Platform automation scripting (Shell, Chef, Ruby, Python, Rust) advanced coding skill is a must.
• CI/CD continuous deployment with GitLab
• AWS networks systems: DNS (route53), VPC (AWS), network security, TCP/IP, Firewalls, NAT, Load balancers, VPN
• Databases: Basic DB management skills (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Cassandra, Mongo DB) (Mostly managed services like RDS and MongoDB Atlas), Kafka (messaging/streaming), Redis (cache)
• Security: Scanning tools integration, system hardening, proof collection, security incident response.
• REST API, CLI Tooling
• Technical process automation
