Job Description
SUMMARY
The Social Marketing Manager is responsible for driving positive social interactions across our different channels in addition to our reputation management. Utilizing organic and third party content in addition to social analytic tools and SEO, this position develops relevant content which builds awareness and engagement for our external audiences. More that social, you will use your broader marketing experience on programs and activities that both leverage and favorably impact our brand identity and grow our business. Acting as the internal ambassador to a social-first environment the Social Marketing Manager is seen as a trusted strategist on content, interaction approaches, channels (legacy and emerging) and social media trends with an intended overall impact of advancing our understanding of Social as a discipline. Utilizing strategic planning combined with tactical execution, this role provides a cohesive organizational voice that reached different audiences including customers, perspective employees and other interested parties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Define topics and develop, co-create and secure relevant content that reaches targeted audiences, tuning content based on the channel used (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, GlassDoor, Tumblr, etc.).
- Ensure all content is on-brand, consistent in terms of style, quality and tone of voice, and optimized for user experience based on the social platform(s).
- Effectively engage and use appropriate response techniques to mitigate the impact of negative content in addition to working with and leveraging Reputation Management consultants.
- Plan, coordinate and execute innovative marketing initiatives.
- Use analytics to track and report content effectiveness metrics to key stakeholders and success of social media programs.
- Monitor and tune messaging to maximize conversion to websites and impact of relevant brand influencers/advocates.
- Explore new ways to engage and identify a new online audience, working to continually search for new ways to increase response and conversion rates for our website.
- Create and implement strategies to grow our reach, duration of interactions and length of social relationship.
- Partner with other functional areas to promote sub-brands and sub-channels (e.g. employment brand) in addition to reputation management.
- Partner with the VP of Marketing, other Executives and designees to identify a persona and tone for our brand.
- Write blog posts that lead to positive PR and engages future customers who are researching our brand.
- Support the development of collateral materials by working with Marketing and locations on print material, local promotions, partner programs, trade shows, etc.
- Manage Social Design and images files.
- Create best practices build internal relationships and educate staff on legacy and emerging social media platforms.
- Oversee any tradeshow marketing or open house type of events.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing. Journalism or related major or commensurate experience in lieu of education.
• 4 years developing & managing social media and/or digital marketing and communications programs in an agency or corporate environment.
• 3 years of experience in agency/vendor management.
• Possess an in-depth understanding of current social media platforms (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Glassdoor, Tumblr, etc.) in addition to a strong interest in emerging platforms.
• Possess a strong working knowledge of SEO, web analytics and campaign metrics; inclusive of common measures.
• Possess the ability to think strategically and execute tactically.
