Job Description
The Service Advisor is responsible for scheduling service work in the service department and for selling additional needed service to customers.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Schedule service appointments and greet customers in a timely, friendly manner. Obtain customer and vehicle data prior to arrival when possible.
- Provide accurate written cost estimates for labor and parts, establish promised completion times, and obtain proper authorization before performing any additional repairs.
- Monitor repair progress throughout the day and contact customers regarding any changes to estimates or timelines, explaining cost and time requirements in detail.
- Test-drive vehicles or refer to the test technician as necessary to ensure quality service delivery.
- Advise customers on vehicle maintenance in accordance with manufacturer specifications to maximize vehicle longevity.
- Maintain Customer Satisfaction Index ratings comparable to manufacturer, zone, or branch averages.
- Understand and follow federal, state, and local regulations, including hazardous waste disposal and OSHA requirements.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures, and immediately report any accidents to a manager or supervisor.
Qualifications
Preferred:
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information.
- Two years of experience in a dealership position.
- General knowledge of vehicle mechanical operations.
- ASE certification preferred.
- Sales experience (in a retail or dealership environment).
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Required:
- All applicants must be authorized to work in the USA.
- Valid drivers license and clean driving record.
- All applicants must be able to demonstrate ability to pass pre-employment testing to include background checks, MVR, drug test, credit report, and valid driver license.
