Job Description
Primary Objective: The Human Resources Specialist is responsible for providing human resources support to Home Office managers and teammates. The Human Resources Specialist must possess proven organizational and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to handle confidential information in a fast-paced environment.
Scope of Responsibility: Responsible for Home Office teammates within the company’s organizational structure
- Onboarding
- Serves as primary contact for manager requests to create requisitions and applicant status updates.
- Initiates company pre-employment processes including background checks, reference checks, and drug testing.
- Conducts transactional processing in HRIS (i.e., enters new hires, pay status changes, terminations etc).
- Supports the Senior HR Manager with offer letters, pay plan templates, and onboarding documents for new hires.
- Conducts new hire training for all Home Office teammates.
- Ensures compliance with the I-9 process for Home Office teammates.
- Completes and submits key fob request forms to ensure new hires have building access. Also coordinates key fob access for contractors and vendors as requested.
- Coordinates the rehire/transfer process per company policy and ensures proper documentation is provided.
- HR Responsibilities
- Responds to unemployment claims and verification of employment inquiries.
- Serves as a teammate resource by providing answers for day-to-day inquiries on company policies and HR-related items.
- Guides teammates and managers on navigation and use of the HRIS system.
- Notifies newly eligible associates of their eligibility for Company Benefits and provides them with enrollment instructions
- Assists the Benefits Department with the annual open enrollment process.
- Researches and responds to paystub inquiries before the implementation of UGK.
- Monitors and verifies workflow notifications are properly generated and sent to the Service Team Now.
- Responsible for training front desk receptionist and front desk coverage team as needed.
- Assists with running Home Office reports during the Pulse Survey.
- Maintains, updates, and secures approval on the corporate Holiday calendar.
- Organizes quarterly new teammate welcome lunches for Home Office, Ballantyne, and Divisional teammates.
- Responsible for sending out quarterly teammate anniversary letters.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability of least 2 years of Human Resources experience
- ·Bachelors Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field
- Well-developed time management and organizational skills
- Demonstrated competence with Excel, Powerpoint, and Outlook
- Detail oriented with excellent follow through
- Highly effective written, verbal and presentation-based communication skills
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with HRIS systems and applicant tracking systems
- Familiarity with FMLA policies
