Job Description

Job Summary

The Payroll Analyst will work in the Sonic Shared Services Center and be responsible for daily operational tasks relating to the processing and payment of semi-monthly paychecks to Sonic associates. 

Essential Functions-    

Responsibilities include:

•Ensure accurate and timely payment of associate payroll payments. 

•Audit new hire associate data to ensure accuracy.  Report discrepancies to the Associate Resource Center for correction.

•Review and load payroll template data received from the dealerships.  Notify dealerships when Payroll Activity Reports are ready for review.

•Update payroll template corrections as provided by the dealership contact.

•Audit transfers/rehires for completeness.  Notify the Associate Resource Center of any discrepancies that need to be corrected. 

•Respond timely to inquires from management, Associate Resource Centers, dealership partners, 3rd party partners, and associates when appropriate.

•Prepare and process manual payments based upon policy and procedures.   This includes calculating gross to net and determining correct taxation. 

•Assist team members as appropriate to ensure timely and accurate processing of associate payments.

•Actively participate in special projects as assigned by management. 

          

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent.  Oracle EBS or Oracle FUSION experience a plus. Preference will be given to candidates with  FPC or CPP.  Candidates must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.  Candidates must have excellent communication skills.  Must have the ability to work in a Shared Services environment. 

Desired Experience-      

Candidates must have a minimum of 3 years experience in multi-state payroll processing. Candidates should have experience with large volume payrolls consisting of 2,000 associates or more.  Working knowledge of involuntary deductions (i.e. garnishments, child support orders, tax levies) is desired.  Candidates should have thorough knowledge of all payroll and payroll tax related rules and regulations and have strong knowledge of "best-in- industry" practices.  This position requires excellent oral and written communication skills.  Candidates must be detail oriented, results oriented, and have an ability to think strategically.
