Job Description

Solidigm is seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Assistant Facilities Manager to support the day-to-day operations of our Rancho Cordova, California campus. Reporting to the Regional Facilities Manager, this role is responsible for maintaining a safe, efficient, and fully operational work environment across the general office, lab, and critical environment spaces. The successful candidate will assist in overseeing building systems, managing vendor relationships, supporting capital improvement projects, and ensuring compliance with applicable codes and regulations, with particular emphasis on lab infrastructure and precision-controlled environments. Facilities Operations & Maintenance

  • Support the Regional Facilities Manager in the daily operations of office, laboratory, and critical environment facilities.
  • Conduct routine facility inspections to identify maintenance issues, safety concerns, and compliance deficiencies.
  • Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance programs for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire/life safety, and Building Automation Systems (BAS).
  • Maintain accurate records within the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), including work orders, asset information, and maintenance history.
  • Respond to facility service requests and ensure timely resolution of operational issues.
  • Escalate complex maintenance or infrastructure concerns as appropriate.
  • Coordinate office moves, space planning initiatives, and workplace reconfigurations in collaboration with internal stakeholders.

Laboratory & Critical Environment Operations

  • Support day-to-day operations of laboratory spaces, data centers, controlled-access environments, and precision testing facilities.
  • Monitor environmental conditions including temperature, humidity, differential pressure, and airflow to maintain operational requirements.
  • Assist with management of critical infrastructure systems including:
    • Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS)
    • Power Distribution Units (PDU)
    • CRAC/CRAH Systems
    • Emergency and Backup Power Systems
  • Maintain access control systems and support compliance with laboratory safety requirements.
  • Support ESD (Electrostatic Discharge), chemical safety, and environmental monitoring programs.
  • Investigate and document equipment alarms, out-of-specification conditions, and facility incidents.
  • Coordinate maintenance, testing, and certification activities for critical systems, including generators, UPS systems, and fire protection equipment.
  • Participate in emergency response efforts and business continuity planning activities.

Vendor & Contract Management

  • Manage relationships with service providers including janitorial, landscaping, security, mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP), and specialty contractors.
  • Monitor vendor performance against service level agreements (SLAs) and contractual requirements.
  • Review vendor work performance and assist with invoice verification and approval processes.
  • Support budget management by tracking expenditures and maintaining financial records.
  • Solicit competitive bids for maintenance, repair, and improvement projects.
  • Prepare bid evaluations and vendor recommendations for management review.

Project Management Support

  • Assist with planning and execution of tenant improvement (TI), renovation, and capital improvement projects.
  • Coordinate activities with architects, engineers, consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Track project schedules, budgets, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Communicate project status updates and potential risks to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Manage project closeout activities, including punch lists, as-built documentation, warranties, and Operations & Maintenance (O&M) manuals.

Administrative & Financial Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and management of annual operating and capital budgets.
  • Process purchase orders, track expenses, and support procurement activities.
  • Prepare facility performance reports and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), including maintenance metrics, work order performance, and project status reporting.
  • Maintain facility drawings, floor plans, equipment inventories, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Support compliance documentation, audits, inspections, and recordkeeping activities.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

  • Ability to walk throughout campus facilities and construction sites on a regular basis.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
  • May be required to work in office, laboratory, data center, and light industrial environments.
  • Occasional after-hours, weekend, or emergency response support may be required.
  • Ability to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when necessary.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3–5 years of facilities, building operations, or maintenance management experience.
  • Working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire/life safety, and building automation systems.
  • Experience using CMMS platforms such as ServiceNow, Maximo, MaintainX, or similar systems.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations, NFPA standards, and applicable building codes.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting laboratories, semiconductor facilities, data centers, manufacturing environments, or other critical infrastructure operations.
  • Familiarity with UPS systems, precision cooling equipment, and backup power infrastructure.
  • Project management experience involving facility renovations or capital projects.
  • IFMA Facility Management Professional (FMP), Certified Facility Manager (CFM), or similar certification preferred.

The compensation range for this role is $78,400 - $122,500. Actual compensation is influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to skills, experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
