Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Electrical Failure Analysis Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing and analyzing electrical failures at system level in our SSD products, developing corrective actions, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve product reliability. Your hands-on expertise with board-level debug methodologies will help identify root causes, prevent recurrence, and ensure our products meet the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform detailed electrical failure analysis on PCBs, power delivery systems and other sub-systems to identify root causes of failures.
- Use advanced diagnostic and analytical tools, such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power analyzer, TDR, DMM to conduct in-circuit failure investigations.
- Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to develop corrective and preventive measures.
- Document findings in comprehensive reports, presenting root-cause analysis and actionable recommendations to stakeholders.
- Lead and/or assist in defining strategies for system level failure analysis processes and methodologies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering or a related field with 3+ years of experience.
- Demonstrate hands-on experience in board level electrical validation, electrical fault isolation, and design of experiments (DOE).
- Proficiency in electrical diagnostic tools such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power analyzer, TDR, curve tracer, DMM, Oakgate.
- Experience reading and interpreting schematics and PCB layouts (e.g., Cadence Allegro Viewer) to guide board-level debug and root-cause analysis.
- Experience with electrical interfaces such as I2C, UART, JTAG, SMBus, SPI, PCIe.
- Familiarity with analytical tools such as Microscope, FLIR, XRAY.
- Ability to work with various OS - Windows and Linux, and write test and automation scripts with C and/or python.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to conclusions and ability to understand and communicate complex concepts.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment.
Additional Information
The compensation range for this role is $94,080 - $147,000. Actual compensation is influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to skills, experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
This position is also eligible to participate in Solidigm's restricted stock unit (RSU), restricted cash unit (RCU), and cash bonus programs.
