Job Description

In this position you will join a fast-paced team developing new, cutting-edge firmware for Solidigm Solid State Drives (SSD).  You will utilize and grow your experience in embedded architecture, external interfaces, and product constraints, along with the ability to develop architectures/features that meet these constraints while providing new value for the platform. You will use and gain experience in storage interface standards such as NVMe, PCIe, SATA, and SAS. The team utilizes Agile development methodologies, therefore, excellent communication skills and the ability to work closely with team members, both locally and across the organization is required.

As a DevOps engineer your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Develop, maintain and scale the development infrastructure for Intel SSD product development.
  • Building and optimizing the build and test pipelines.
  • Maintain and operate the infrastructure services.
  • Role model continuous improvement with a good understanding of modern DevOps concepts
  • Working with project stakeholders turning product requirements into development and DevOps plans
  • Proactively enabling the development team to progress forward by eliminating roadblocks where applicable.
  • Building automated deployments through the use of configuration management technology.
  • Deploying new modules and upgrades and completing fixes within the DevOps production environment.
  • Improve health of code branches using management tools like: Git, Mercurial, Bitbucket, SVN…

Qualifications

Candidates must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Requirements listed below would be obtained through a combination of schoolwork/classes/research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences.

Minimum Requirements:

The candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, Electrical Engineering or Computer Science or a related field

4+ years of experience in the following areas:

  • Experience writing software lifecycle automation software
    • Languages: Java and Python
    • Comfortable designing and writing unit, functional, regression, and acceptance tests
  • Experience designing and implementing complex process automation workflows (Jenkins Pipelines, GitHub Actions, Gitlab CI, etc…)
  • Experience managing software lifecycle platforms (source code, continuous integration, binary storage, and/or code scanning services)
  • Significant level of experience in debugging problems across software layers and systems
  • Working knowledge of data-driven/declarative automation workflow concepts.
  • Distributed workload understanding/knowledge.
  • Comfortable and experienced with GIT and the GIT code promotion flow (branches, pull requests, and automated test regression)
  • Experience managing Windows and Linux headless infrastructure
  • Comfortable creating and managing Linux Docker images

Preferred Requirements:

  • Technically participated or lead enterprise IT platform migrations and/or enablement
  • Comfortable creating and managing Ansible playbooks and roles
  • Comfortable working with Kubernetes and/or Rancher
  • Familiarity with the Atlassian platform (Bitbucket, JIRA, Confluence)
  • Familiarity with the Artifactory platform
  • Familiarity with the PMEASE Quickbuild CI platform
  • Familiarity with code scanning services such as Blackduck Hub, Coverity, and/or Klocwork
  • Worked with or in embedded firmware development
  • Experience administrating Atlassian Bitbucket repositories.
  • Build headless agents for specific automation payloads
  • Experience working in a Kanban / SCRUM team
  • Elastic Search experience administering and using the ecosystem
  • GitHub / GitLab experience

Additional Information

The compensation range for this role is $88,320 - $132,660. Actual compensation is influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to skills, experience, qualifications, and geographic location. 

 

This is a Hybrid role reporting out of Rancho Cordova, California at minimum 2 days per week.
