Job Description

A datacenter solid-state drive (SSD) is a complex computer system consisting of many electrical and software subsystems. As a Solidigm electrical validation engineer, the possibilities for growing your career in hardware and software development are numerous.

The focus of this role is on characterizing, testing, and validating the physical layer of a high-speed digital interface (PHY) and its associated sideband signals that form a full duplex communication link between a server CPU root complex and an SSD. This requires a thorough understanding the PCIe electrical and protocol specifications, as well as the use of complex electrical instruments and protocol analyzers.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in electrical or computer engineering.
    • A working experience with the following electrical lab bench tools:
      • Digital Storage Oscilloscope (DSO)
      • Vector Network Analyzer (VNA)
      • Time Domaine Reflectometry (TDR)
      • Digital Multimeter (DMM)
      • Python scripting
      • Excel
      • PPT presentations

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Master’s degree in electrical or computer engineering.
    • A clear understanding or experienced working with the following:
      • Datacenter Servers
      • BERT analyzers
      • Analog circuits
      • Digital circuits
      • High speed digital transmission lines
      • Signal integrity
      • Power supplies
      • Power delivery
      • PLL clocking
      • Clock recovery

    Additional Information

    For California, Colorado, New York, Washington, and remote roles: The compensation range for this role is $76,380 to $120,050. Actual compensation is influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to skills, experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
