Job Description
What You'll Do
This isn’t your average job. You’ll be part of a team that keeps remote sites running smoothly. Whether you're preparing meals, maintaining facilities, or supporting daily operations, your work makes a real impact. You’ll help create a safe, comfortable, and energizing environment for workers living far from home.
The Driver/General Helper works at a remote site (camp, mine, construction site, etc.) and is responsible for the safe transportation of personnel, materials, and supplies, while also providing operational support to various teams on site. This versatile role requires autonomy, flexibility, and strict adherence to health and safety standards.
As a Driver/General Help, you will:
Driving and Transportation
- Ensure the safe transport of employees, visitors, and materials
- Perform daily vehicle inspections (pre- and post-use)
- Keep vehicles clean, well-maintained, and report any issues
- Comply with traffic laws and internal driving policies
Operational Support (General Helper)
- Assist site teams (maintenance, handling, logistics, etc.)
- Perform various manual tasks (loading/unloading, cleaning, setup, etc.)
- Support supply and inventory management
- Keep work areas clean and safe
- Assist with daily operations as needed
Health and Safety
- Follow all occupational health and safety procedures and site regulations
- Participate in safety meetings and required training
- Report incidents, hazards, or unsafe conditions
- Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Maintain accurate driving logs and reports
Qualifications
What You Bring
A sense of adventure and readiness to live and work in a remote setting
Valid driver’s license (appropriate class depending on vehicles used)
Experience driving in challenging conditions (remote roads, winter, worksites) – an asset
- Experience in remote or industrial environments – an asset
A team-first attitude and strong communication skills
Physical ability to meet job demands (e.g., lifting, standing for long periods)
Commitment to safety, respect, and inclusion
