Salary: $72,000 - $82,000

Job Description

Reporting to the Area General Manager,  you will oversee and lead a team through our 200 bed Long Term Care facility managing all food service, laundry and housekeeping services.  This role will require you will lead your team through a strong safety culture to deliver excellence to our client, and will  leverage your strong business acumen, client/customer service skills and culinary expertise. 

  • Responsible for successfully coordinating and directing food service and housekeeping  operations for the site
  • You will lead your team through food safety training and lead a strong safety culture within a very high volume food service environment
  • A CSNM (Canadian Society of Nutrition Management) designation is an asset
  • Provide formal supervision to employees, monitors the training and development of staff
  • Conduct performance evaluations and coaching. Oversee the recruiting and hiring of new employees.
  • Schedule and manage the team's daily activities. Establish work schedules, assign tasks, and cross-train staff.
  • Maintain positive client relationships and conduct meetings 
  • Perform facility inspections quality assurance following physical and food safety regulations. 
  • Manage environmental health and safety procedures for facilities.

 

Qualifications

  • Post secondary education, ideally in business management, hospitality, and or Environmental Services. Equivalent experience and education may be considered.
  • Minimum 3-5 years in similar or progressive roles in hospitality, healthcare and catering 
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience managing safety programs, return to work/modified duties programs and strong familiarity with WCB/COR Audits and other related safety programs
  • Minimum 3-5 years in progressive leadership, supervisory, and managerial roles.
  • High level of proficiency in MS office suite applications
  • Strong financial management experience; budget creation, forecasting, interpreting financial data (profit and loss statements)
  • Ability to pass both a standard background check and Vulnerable Sector Screening
  • Valid drivers license
