If you’re the go-to person, the one who answers the questions with the know-how to keep facilities running like clockwork, we have an opportunity for a Carpenter to join our Building Maintenance team, working a Fly-In-Fly-Out 14/7, 11hr day roster in the Bowen Region in Far North QLD.
You will work closely with the Maintenance Manager to tackle various tasks, repair and refurbish equipment and ensure job requests and work orders are entered into the maintenance tracking system.
In order to be successful in this role it is essential you have a positive can-do attitude and meet the following criteria:
- Trade Certificate in Carpentry.
- C Class Driver's License.
- Commitment to Safety in the workplace.
- Physically fit and able to work in diverse weather conditions.
- Carpentry experience at a remote site camp, village or property maintenance.
- Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with both internal and external clients.
- Excellent attention detail and the be able to provide professional customer service ensuring exceptional presentation to client/customer satisfaction.
- Proven time management skills and the ability to prioritise workloads.
The successful applicant must be able to demonstrate appropriate skills, experience and qualifications to perform the below listed tasks:
- Door replacements.
- Replacing/installing locksets.
- Wall Lining replacement and repairs.
- Flooring and Metal Roofing replacement and repairs - including flashings and cappings.
- Plasterboard ceiling replacements including flushing.
- Carpentry replacements (Cupboards and Draws).
- Framing /Partition construction.
It is not essential but highly advantageous to have the below:
- License to Perform High Risk Work - LF.
- Standard 11 and current Coal Board Medical.

We’d love to hear from you if you’ve had previous experience as an all-round handyman. You will be a team player, have a can-do attitude, are flexible in your approach and always remain focused on safety and service delivery. To be successful, you’ll need a manual driver's license.
