Sodexo has a fantastic opportunity for an Indigenous Engagement Co ordinator to join our team based in Balcatta, Perth. This full time, permanent role is working a Monday to Friday 38hr week and will include regional travel. 

This is a versatile and hands on role and the purpose of this position is to inspire and develop TLO Community relationships and Indigenous business opportunities in the Pilbara region. 
Working closely with TLO groups and Pilbara Aboriginal Businesses you will ensure that Sodexo provides opportunity to develop capability and capacity in the region.

Key accountabilities will Include:

  • Developing and implementing a comprehensive stakeholder and community engagement strategy with Indigenous communities, organisations, and leaders.
  • Building productive partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to deliver and integrate local Indigenous perspectives, knowledge and practices into our business processes, policies, and initiatives.
  • Organising and facilitating community meetings, workshops and events to gather feedback, address concerns, and co-design solutions that promote business opportunities, employment and well-being of Indigenous people in the Pilbara region.
  • Cross-promoting and identifying areas of community and cultural contribution, recognition, celebration, and employment and business skill-building.
  • Work closely with Sodexo IFMS operations teams to identify operational efficiencies and new innovative opportunities relative to Pilbara Aboriginal Business engagement.
  • Work closely with Sodexo’s Indigenous Supplier Procurement Manager to review and improve on Pilbara Aboriginal Business spend opportunities.
  • Regular travel to a number of remote sites throughout the Pilbara region.
  • Responsible for liaising and collaborating with internal stakeholders and subject matter experts across the business to develop Business Opportunities for TLO Groups and Pilbara Aboriginal Businesses.
  • Support Sodexo’s indigenous Mentor team with mentoring activities and deliverables.
  • Act as an SME to the business on relevant Sodexo RAP deliverables.

Qualifications

Who are we looking for?
To be successful, you’ll have a proven track record in building and maintaining effective and respectful working relationships with TLO community and Indigenous businesses as well as identifying areas for community contribution, skills building recognition and business opportunities.

An excellent understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, including the ability to communicate effectively and respectfully, to effectively guide, design and deliver community and business relevant opportunities, programs and initiatives.

We’re looking for someone who thrives in fast-paced, high-volume environments; there’s never a dull moment at Sodexo.   

You take pride in delivering work to the highest standard, with excellent time management and teamwork skills and can work independently and communicate with stakeholders at all levels.  

Requirements of the role will include but are not limited to:

  • Available for weekly / Bi Weekly site travel
  • Demonstrated successful experience in working with TLO Groups, and Indigenous Businesses.
  • Customer focused with excellent influencing skills teamed with the ability to understand key stakeholder requirements and build strong relationship.
  • Strong skills in handling and influencing diverse stakeholder relationships, coupled with the ability to develop and implement strategic plans, initiatives and projects.
  • Degree qualified in a relevant discipline, highly desirable.
