Are you a fitness professional, a great communicator with a passion for people and service?     

We have an opportunity to join our team on a full-time basis as a Health & Lifestyle Coordinator.  Flying out of Brisbane or Cairns you will be working 14:7 roster at Weipa Town Camp.  Accommodation and meals are covered during your stay at camp.

The work will be at the Village Gym facilitating group stretching sessions, motivating employees, as well as individual health management and wellness counselling. You will develop and coordinate sporting and social events, group exercise sessions (i.e. walking groups and circuit classes), wellness and health promotion programs, and physical rehabilitation programs for injured employees. You will also be responsible for the design and delivery of injury prevention programs and initiatives.

Who are we looking for?  

As a health and lifestyle role model, you will be in charge of leading and taking responsibility for all health and lifestyle issues at the village. With experience in delivering a variety of group fitness classes, you will also be able to organise and oversee the running of multiple health/recreation projects and programs. In this customer service focused role, leadership, interpersonal and motivational skills are essential.

To be successful you will need:

  • Certificate III & IV in Fitness (nationally recognized)
  • National Accreditation as a qualified fitness instructor (e.g. Fitness Australia)
  • CPR and Apply First Aid certification
  • Current Manual Driver’s Licence (Class C) are required
  • Australian Citizenship or full Australian working rights  
  • Ability to undergo a pre-employment medical, including drug & alcohol testing and police check
