Company Description

Sodexo have a position available for a Commercial Appliance Technician to join our team on a permanent basis in a FIFO role to the Pilbara. The Commercial Appliance Technician is responsible for the maintenance and repair of Washers, Driers, Air-Conditioners, and other electrical components throughout all our sites.

Job Description

The role will be on a 2:1 FIFO roster from Perth and require the successful candidate to travel between sites and regions as required to ensure all compliance checks have been completed.

You must be able to pass a pre-employment medical, drug and alcohol screen, Sodexo and client onboarding and inductions.

Key Duties:

  • Examining appliances and identifying the cause of appliance breakdowns.
  • Performing corrective and preventative maintenance work on appliances.
  • Providing rough estimates to Supervisor on hours and parts required to rectify faults in appliances.
  • Repairing or replacing defective or damaged appliance components upon approval from Supervisor
  • Installing various large appliances such as washers, wall ovens, and stoves. Maintaining an accurate record of all items/parts used to repair, replace, or maintain appliances.
  • Participate in appliance servicing, and repair work and development activities.
  • Apply Occupational Health and Safety regulations, codes, and practices in the workplace,
  • Solve problems in ELV single path circuits.
  • Find and rectify faults in appliance control systems.
  • Attach cords plugs to electrical equipment for connection to a single phase 230 Volt system.
  • Service dishwasher machines, ovens, bain-marie’s, and clothes dryers.
  • Service Combination Ovens.
  • Service Room Air Conditioners.
  • Undertake hygiene clean on split system ACs.

Qualifications

  • Cert 3 in Appliance Service.
  • Electrical Trade Certificate well regarded.
  • Previous experience in a similar role.
  • Ability to travel the Pilbara Region to promote effective work management processes, and as business needs arise.
  • Previous experience with or ability to use mobile devices to manage work orders, safety permits and spare parts requisitions.
