The role

The year 2021 will bring about significant growth and exciting prospects within our Education segment, Sodexo are inviting applications from experienced Chef/Catering Managers interested in joining Sodexo and working within the Clyde area.

Running a small team and reporting into the Area Business Manager, this client facing role will be charged with overseeing the daily operations including Functions, Catering and Canteen Operations.

You will also be responsible for hands on food preparation from simple canteen food right through to creating 3 course meals for special events; in addition to food costing, menu design, managing staff rosters, overseeing effective stock control, cooking & food preparation and ensuring a high standard of food hygiene, safety and cleanliness is maintained.

This is a permanent, full-time position with hours of 800 - 1600, Monday to Friday. Candidates with flexibility to work some weekends will also be preferred.

Qualifications

About You

You are a compassionate leader who enjoys working in small harmonious teams; preferred experience will be from within a Corporate or Education environment where reporting and compliance are regular requirements. You hold a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (not mandatory) and have previous experience with events and functions catering.

You demonstrate a strong knowledge and understanding of food costing, food cost variable (wastage, rotation etc.) HACCP and food safety. You are personable with excellent communication skills and the ability to lead a team, driving consistency and innovation to deliver required service outcomes.

Finally, an RSA, Food Safety Supervisor's Certificate and a Working with Children Check are also required for this position.
