Sodexo are seeking a passionate and dedicated Head Chef interested in joining our ever-expanding Education segment at their North Adelaide site. 

The role of a Head Chef within Sodexo will see you lead and manage the catering team and ensure the highest level of service, you will plan and organise the preparation and cooking of food and meet all legislative requirements in relation to food safety.

Your responsibilities will include, but not limited to, the following:

  • Effectively lead, develop and motivate the kitchen team to ensure the highest level of catering service
  • Create leading edge menus and ensure industry best contemporary food is integrated into the daily production schedule
  • Motivate the kitchen team, monitoring and solving issues as they arise within the kitchen
  • To ensure that preparation, presentation and service is carried out promptly and to Sodexo standards
  • To maintain a high standard of food hygiene, safety and cleanliness in accordance with Sodexo, Client and statutory requirements
  • To maintain and continuously improve food presentation, service and standards
  • To keep all wastage to a minimum and to observe sound environmental practices when possible
  •  Support  management in the smooth running of catering services

About You

To be successful in this role, you will come from a from a 5-star hotel background or similar and possess the below:

  • Hold a Certificate III or higher in Commercial Cookery
  • Previous experience in functions or events catering 
  • Hold a Food Handling Certificate
  • Experience leading a highly motivated and highly trained team with the ability to assist in up skilling
  • A high understanding of food hygiene, safety and cleanliness
  • Strong cooking and food preparation skills including knife skills are essential
  • A flair and passion for high quality food production and presentation 
  • Hold (or willing to obtain) a Working with Children Check
  • You have full, unrestricted working rights within Australia
  • You are able to thrive in a fast paced environment while multitasking and prioritising
  •  You will have excellent communication and ability to build relationships with clients and customers
  • You pride yourself in outstanding customer service and personal presentation
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills are a must
  • You will be a highly efficient and self-motivated individual
  • Have passion for food and delivering high level results to our client day after day
  • Formal qualifications in Food Safety and HACCP will be an advantage
