Accounts Receivable Officer

12-month contract, full-time, immediate start

We are currently looking for an Accounts Receivable Officer to join our team based in our Balcatta WA Office.  

About the job

The Accounts Receivable Officer will be responsible for processing and submission of tax invoices, reconciliation of daily transactions, payments, and adjustments as well as timely debt collection. 

The ideal candidate for this position must have 3+ years of experience in Accounts Receivable and good understanding of the accounting side of it, be able to process invoices and manage a high volume of emails with internal and external queries while maintaining focus and accuracy. 

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

You ensure that accurate processing of invoices and credit notes are done on timely basis. Then, submission to clients, follow-ups and escalations will be required from you to ensure minimum to no outstanding invoices are kept in our books. Maintaining our Excel tracker, answering calls and high volume of emails will be one of your key activities on daily basis. You are also required to do customer reconciliation on weekly basis or as often as necessary to ensure short/over payments are addressed as soon as possible. Therefore, your proactive approach and great communication in building your relationship with clients, operations managers and within your team will assist mostly in performing your tasks. Also, we do organised filing and record keeping in a paperless manner which we strongly share responsibility amongst our team. Lastly, from time-to-time, your manager or senior managers will seek your assistance on adhoc tasks that are necessary to meet targets, to improve processes or resolve pressing matters.

About you

To be successful in this role, you ideally will have Certificate IV in Accounting or higher, solid knowledge and competence in AR processes and clear understanding of related accounting concepts. Have experience working in a high paced and demanding accounts department. We expect an exceptional high degree of accuracy and attention to detail, strong time management skills and prioritisation to ensure timelines are delivered. We will encourage your ability to be an analytical thinker to constantly challenge status quo to improve processes while fostering teamwork and positive environment. We are looking for someone who is a proactive, confident, self-motivated, who can communicate well and be professional in their approach. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics would be highly advantageous as well.
